The numbers are pulled directly from the Jehovah's Witnesses publications. In the past they would use the dropping number of memorial partakers as "proof" that the end was near. Now from their own publications it has raised to 14,000 from what the average number was of around 8,500 for decades. The official line is NO LONGER the numbers are falling. If anything they allude that the massive increase may be from people who are not really anointed but just think they are. Either way they say to leave it in Gods hands. To verify the current number of partakers you can download the 2015 yearbook from the JW website and go to page 176 under Grand Totals. I'm embarrassed to say this now, but back when I was a boy I used to really look forward to seeing the number of memorial partakers drop. I was told paradise would be here before they all died out. Now over 14,000??? What a sick joke!

i know she loves me and cares about me, but only within her narrow wt spectrum.

if i do not meet her narrow expectations, i am a failure to her.

I can understand some of what you are going through. My mom disowned me years ago as I am no longer a JW. In her last letter to me making it clear she will not know me anymore she spoke of how she "loved" me, but of course I view love by the actions of another, not cold words. How sad for them to be so controlled by this horrible family destroying cult.

Memorial Question?

over the years, i've come to notice that some of the friends will not touch the plate with the bread or the cup of wine ,when the emblems are being passed around.

i remember a row of 3 people told the brother to skip over them.

every year i have noticed this behavior.

I used to be the brother who would help pass the emblems around to everyone in the hall. After the meeting was over some other brothers and I would eat a bit of the bread and drink the wine. I was told it was alright because the memorial was officially over. Not sure of the official Watchtower rule on it, but I think it's OK. Oh well, maybe I'm one of the Anointed and this is Yahweh working mysteriously???

WTS competition

just now 10am friday morning, had a phone call from central london to tell me that opposite the houses of parliament outside westminster tube station the wts (wobbly trolley society) are standing there being overshadowed by others with loudspeaker and taller placards declaring "jws are a cult".

sounds like fun!.

but will this sort of publicity harm or benefit the jw org?.

Protesters to JW's will not necessarily fuel some kind of persecution complex. I was a ministerial servant, pioneer, and went to Bethel. I saw all kinds of "apostate protesters" in my time. They didn't entrench me further into the religion, honestly it made me curious to learn more about apostates because at the time I honestly believed I had the truth and I wanted to learn why they didn't want to be JW's anymore so I could help them. Of course once you start to research it all it's painfully obvious you have been lied to, and now I am grateful for all the protesters as they helped me find freedom.

I was both physically and emotionally abused by my JW family. I already know they are evil.

I actually had dinner with Lyman Swingle and his wife Crystal at Bethel back in 1995. Of course this was when I was still very young and hadn't realized it was a cult yet. I mostly just sat there as he talked about random parts of his life.

The only other GB member I spoke with was Carey Barber. He gave me a very nasty look one day because I was wearing tennis shoes in a hallway at Bethel, and then 4 years later I helped deliver a very expensive donated car to Bethel, towing it from Kansas. He walked over and greeted me once I got there. Overall a nice attitude; I guess it just takes giving them a luxury vehicle rather than being a poor Bethelite in old shoes to get a pleasant reaction from them. HAHA!

But I sure do wish I had the knowledge then that I have now to really ask them the hard questions, but of course that would have just got me thrown out on my ear! LOL!
