Question for you Aussies: What months are considered the rainy season? Is it different for various parts of AU? I've seen Discovery channel shows about the rainy season --I think its up north where all the crocodiles are-- anyway, it was a woodsy savanah type area, that floods for months at a time.
If I ever come to AU, I'd want to come in the wet when things in naturea are alive. Go see Tea Tree plantations/forrests, visit the dolphins on the west coast, see a few craters (meteor), go boating on the Great Reef.
while i was an elder (in 2 congregations), over the years, i saw most witnesses that suffered from s o m e t h i n g.. either a witness had chronic depression, mysterious ailments that were never clearly diagnosed by a doctor, or were in fear.
afraid to offend another brother's conscience.,afraid to upset the elders.
I developed depression and then anxiety and insomnia as a teenager. It still affects me as I was that way for so long, that is has almost become a natural state of being for me.
For migraine headaches, I recommend trying acupuncture. Also, therapeutic massage may help some individuals, massage to the shoulders, neck-front and back. That can be intense, for some too much so. I have intense HA due to whiplash, and massage helps for a few days but the acupuncture works better.
The anxiety has become part of my personality .
Maybe the "healing process" after getting disconnected from the Matrix will help me eliminate it.
I can so relate to that. What helped me alot, about the same time I first came to the board, was daily meditation. I did it for half an hour or so a day, and did it daily. For about two years that I kept up with that, I felt so much better, calmer. I was much less affected by external stressors. Since I've been in Seattle a few years now, gone through a year of school, moved in with my partner, I don't have a place that I feel comfortable relaxing to do meditation in. And so I've let the habit lax. I regret that a great deal, not because of guilt, but because I can feel and observe how and I feel.
So you're saying that Global warming is to human societies and govts as Armagedon is to the WTS? A tool of fear to manipulate? I'm open to that possibility.
i've had this idea for a few days, just mulling how to flesh it out if you will.
it may not be a new idea, but i'll try to get it out coherently.. lets say there is a guy, he's a jw but has been surfing the net and knows now that the wts is bogus.
he can't just leave, he has family-wife and young children who are in the borg.
Blondie-Is that Amazing's story? If not, it sure reminds me alot of it. I love how he was able to create an atmosphere of freedom, and an environment where his family could grow. I don't think that that is as easy as it sounds.
I just want to be clear, I am not doing this at this time, and I would be reluctant for me to attempt this as I don't think I could cary it through successfully.
lakota indians withdraw treaties signed with u.s. 150 years agothursday, december 20, 2007. .
washington the lakota indians, who gave the world legendary warriors sitting bull and crazy horse, have withdrawn from treaties with the united states.. "we are no longer citizens of the united states of america and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us,'' long-time indian rights activist russell means said.. a delegation of lakota leaders has delivered a message to the state department, and said they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the u.s., some of them more than 150 years old.. the group also visited the bolivian, chilean, south african and venezuelan embassies, and would continue on their diplomatic mission and take it overseas in the coming weeks and months.. lakota country includes parts of the states of nebraska, south dakota, north dakota, montana and wyoming.. the new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free - provided residents renounce their u.s. citizenship, mr means said.. the treaties signed with the u.s. were merely "worthless words on worthless paper," the lakota freedom activists said.. withdrawing from the treaties was entirely legal, means said.. "this is according to the laws of the united states, specifically article six of the constitution,'' which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land, he said.. "it is also within the laws on treaties passed at the vienna convention and put into effect by the us and the rest of the international community in 1980. we are legally within our rights to be free and independent,'' said means.. the lakota relaunched their journey to freedom in 1974, when they drafted a declaration of continuing independence an overt play on the title of the united states' declaration of independence from england.. thirty-three years have elapsed since then because "it takes critical mass to combat colonialism and we wanted to make sure that all our ducks were in a row,'' means said.. one duck moved into place in september, when the united nations adopted a non-binding declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples despite opposition from the united states, which said it clashed with its own laws.. "we have 33 treaties with the united states that they have not lived by.
they continue to take our land, our water, our children,'' phyllis young, who helped organize the first international conference on indigenous rights in geneva in 1977, told the news conference.. the u.s. "annexation'' of native american land has resulted in once proud tribes such as the lakota becoming mere "facsimiles of white people,'' said means.. oppression at the hands of the u.s. government has taken its toll on the lakota, whose men have one of the shortest life expectancies - less than 44 years - in the world.. lakota teen suicides are 150 per cent above the norm for the u.s.; infant mortality is five times higher than the u.s. average; and unemployment is rife, according to the lakota freedom movement's website..
What prevents the U.S. govt from blockading them in like the soviets did to Berlin after WWII? Could they survive if that happened? I'd love to see them make it.

So you think it could work. Ithink the hard part would be eventually going back to meetings, even though you know its not for real, just being there could be so draining. Also I tend to have a very poor poker face, I don't know if I could pull it off. There are some people here though who I think would be great at this.

Lets say there is a guy, he's a JW but has been surfing the net and knows now that the WTS is bogus. He can't just leave, he has family-wife and young children who are in the Borg. What if, he found online another apostate in his area, and the plan is, to have this apostate pretend to be his very interested bible study. The JWs whole family can "study" with the student, and the experienced apostate/student could ask very thought provoking questions. Perhaps at some point the bible study progresses to the point of coming to sunday meetings.
The whole point of the bible study is to get the JWs family out, and possibly any JW bystanders from the hall.
So, has this sort of thing been done already, and has it been posted about here or elsewhere? What are the benefits/drawbacks of this sort of plan?
