If the newsman had a chance to interview some of the Bethelites at that time "privately", I'd bet he have a different story on the "Judge's" character. Olin Moyle must have had a laugh if he read this article.

A gem of hypocrasy from 1887 Watchtower

came accross this piece from the 1887 watchtower tonight.... have a read... you can see russell criticising the protestants for how they are not allowed to teach anything that is not sanctioned by the church.. sounds mighty familier...and can be mirrored right back at the wt.. watchtower 1887. .

page 923 april 1887 (caps and italics russells and the wt).

nor should we ignore the assistance of any of god's children in seeking an understanding of the scriptures, but we should give attention to them only so far and so long, as they teach and explain the bible, in harmony with the bible.

i am putting together some things to bring up when the elders talk me (i got ratted out for being apostate), so i need some info on the following.

i am putting some of this together myself, you you folks here seem that have that stuff handy .... - list of babylonian kings on the cd (which articles) to show 587 is the date the list gets you to.

- article that the wt wrote saying that if you study the bible on your own you will turn apostate (i seem to recall it, but not sure if it exists).

Are you planning to stay with this organizattion or leave??You may or may not plant a seed , but over all , you would confirm their(elders) investigation as to you being a apostate.

a friend wrote me and sent a list of books he wants to give free to those that might want them, he will even ship them to you (i assume only in the u.s. but not sure).

he also has the '84 bound vols.

If you need a copy of any publications, there are a lots of websites and Cds that have a full library of JWs . For some reason I kept the library I built up when I was once a dub and in my limbo years. All boxed up in the attic now. Full Wt runs from 1938 - 2007(Also the 7 Volume Watchtowers 1879 - 1919 put out in 1922), GA,Consolations,and Awakes from 1936 - 2007, Books from the 7 volumes of the Studies in the Scriptures up to publications in 2008. Booklets from 1920 - 2005, Bibles, Informants/ KMs 1951 - 2007, Rutherford records(26),various Convention reports,etc... If you need a particular article photocopied from the original , just end me a message. If you need to see a copy for your own eyes,I live in NY so again send me a message and I could meet up with you at a nearby location. Everything else I have on my harddrive or on cds.

Got the new dvd

well, i was just given the new dvd from the convention and i am trying to figure out if i should watch it or not.

on one hand i enjoy uncovering the hypocrisy, it's a good reminder as to why i am faded away.. on the other hand i dont know if i should waste my time watching crap.. thoughts?.

I would like to hear your experiences with being SHUNNED

i am going to put together a page of short experiences of how shunning has affected exjws.

you do not have to be disfellowshipped, even if you were shunned after being marked or after fading.

all comments are welcome, such as who shunned you, how long since family have spoken to you, what your situation is, why you are being shunned and how it has made you feel.

Aquagirl, your story has touch me deeply!! I DA'ed myself many,many years ago. My parents are still in the Borg. They are getting up in age , and the thought has crossed my mind how will things be when they pass on. I pretty sure I would get no compassion from most my relatives and the rank and file JWs. Fortunely, my siblings will be my support,as they were DF'ed and never returned. I still visit my parents from time to time,and they are very sociable. But, they do not make any effort to visit or contact me, unless I haven't called or visit them ,in say a month or so. But they're my parents ,and I feel obligated to reach out to them, but sometimes I get stressed,always giving ,giving(emotionally and sometimes finacially) and never receive at least a call,like how are you doing son. Oh well, thanks for hearing me out, and hope everyone who has related a shun story be able to heal and move on with their god-given life.
