i had another visit from witnesses at my door on saturday, only the second time in the four years we?ve lived here.

a very nice young girl, it was, offering me the ?keep on the watch?

magazine.. i let her make her pitch, which was mostly all about how terrible the world was today, and then just replied with enough interest for her to keep going, without giving anything away.

They say they won't publish the Awake anymore???

my sister has a co-worker who's studying with jws.

he told her today that he was being told the the wt society was going to stop printing the awake this month.

and stop other publications soon.

If JW's were to set another "Armaggeddon" date , what would it be? 2030? _?

i was talking to my jw friend the other day and he was telling me that armaggeddon is right around the corner because of all the things going on in iraq and that he feels that pres.bush fits into bible prophecy because he feels that 666 equals george herbert bush.

i fell on the floor laughing because my friend was serious about it.

i said i know the watchtower is not teaching that bologna and he said no they were not but this is his own interpretation.

I'm surprised they don't get the faithful excited about 2014. It's the anniversary of 1914. There ought to be sometime of commemoration--even if it doesn't bring Armageddon. 100 years of lies might be a good starter.

On other threads I have pointed this out to be as the most logical next year to hype up excitement about. When you think about it that will mark the 100 year mark for the thousand year rule of Christ.He did start to reign in 1914( didn't he !! ) His record for doing things is way worse than any worldly political party of today.(Notice I didn't name any party...No flaming) There can only be 900 years left in the 1000 year reign then perfection will reign. Since Christ has been reigning for 100 years already I never could understand why ALL of the 144,000 are not already empowered and reigning with him especially all those little old sisters in the congregations....My God...the governing body's worse nightmare.

Giving/Receiving blood fractions

we all know that jw's don't give blood and don't accept it neither, but they will accept blood fractions.. .

so my question is: since they can receive blood fractions, can they give blood fractions....and how.. since giving blood is not permitted?.

This statement has to be totally false.They imply that a live donation of marrow could have blood in it BUT...the minute you or an animal dropped dead all this blood was suddenly no longer there.This is total BS.There is the same amount of blood after death in the bone marrow as there was before death.It can not and will not suddenly come out of the middle of a bone after death.Therefore all the jews were consuming blood by eating marrow.

I agree with Roddy and Jim Tx - this is a made-up story. I think some JWs at least have figured out they can't trust these types of "experiences". Nobody said that, and nobody hikes 20 miles each way through the amazon jungle with their meeting clothes on their heads to go to the theocratic ministry school, either.

I agree. This is a made up story. The WT has a long history of faking stories to get a point across. In the early 1970's I was "blessed" with the privilege of taking part in the experience's part at a DA. I was amazed when we were handed a SCRIPT.We were told that these were real experience's...Just not ours.I felt a little uncomfortable even back then about doing it but the FDS was regarded as talking for god.They needed to make a point and what better way to do it!!

the house had a facelift in the 70's and is looking a bit shabby now.

the old lady who lives there won't let people have a look around the house (quite understandable).

I guess that when she talks truth then I should point out some of the "truth" from Russell's era.I know I couldn't get too far..what with "new light" coming out and all.To my wife the truth is what happened today and she never considers the lies she has been told over the years.She will never escape and does not even know she is trapped.

I like the quotes from the WT.They in fact condemm themselves by speaking about facts and the truth in the same sentence.We all know "the truth" has nothing to do with facts and never will be a fact.I don't know how the liars that write this crap can look at themselves in the mirror every morning and still justify their lifes and lies.

Well I went and did it. I got into trouble with my wife AGAIN. She had just come home from a one day C.A. and felt the "NEED" to share with me. After a minute or so I told her I didn't really feel like talking religion with her.She almost screamed at me..."YOU MEAN THE TRUTH DON'T YOU" ????. I was not trying to stir it up but I had struck a real nerve with her.

My thought is when did the truth become "THE TRUTH"? and need to be defended to the death like this ??? Was it after WW 2 or more in the time of Rutherford...the 1930's or so.

A secondary thought is she gets right upset at me using the generic term GOD instead of guess who.Has the CULT programing become so deep that all good dubs react in this fashion without even thinking why?

my best friend just called me and told me that his 18 year-old sister, a jw but not yet baptized, is getting married very soon.

she has had a boyfriend, a jw not baptized either and they have been having sex regularly.

her mother sent her 2000 miles away to try to prevent this from happening anymore.

Since neither are baptized, they can get married in the hall, despite what they have been doing.

You must belong to the most liberal congregation in Canada. In my area there would be NO WAY they would be married in the hall.The very fact that they were not baptised would disqualify them,let alone doing the "naughty"
