  the pope told a distressed kid who lost his dog that "all god's creatures will go to paradise..." which has catholics asking do animals now have souls?

  WT Study Article Nov. 23, 2014--Adam understood "day" to be 24 hours

  interesting admission in today's wt: adam may have understood "day" (as in "in the day you eat from it, you will positively die") to be a literal 24-hour period.

  i don't think the wt has ever said this before; the usual emphasis is that jah meant it as a figurative day, a day from his standpoint which is 1,000 years (and the article does state that, later).. however, if adam understood god's warning to be carried out in a 24 hour period, and god did nothing to alleviate that, then who did the lying?

  actually, regardless of adam's understanding, the question still stands but moving toward an admission of the use of day in that context to be 24-hours only makes the question even more valid.

  to three people in my family, disfellowshipping / shunning is just a tool the wtbs uses to hide what really happened.... they don't want people to 'see behind the curtain.'.

  Its sad that they tell their people shunning is a loving provision to bring people back. I didnt believe that even when i was in. I actually spoke to some that were df and they acted scared that i did and informed me they were df and couldnt talk to me. What a shame. I heard this week in the kingdom ministry, theres a part on making true friends. I would love to hear some of those self righteous comments. Theirs is only conditional friendships.

  Why do "Apostates/exjws" always go into "Watchtower-bashing" when you show them inconsistencies in the Bible?

  i have noticed with "apostates/exjws" they always resort to "watchtower-bashing" whenever you show them inconsistencies of the bible.

  we could be talking about contradictions, such as where did cain get his wife if adam,eve, abel, and cain were the only ones on earth?

  the usual answer when they cannot answer will be "well the wt gave false prophecies in 1975".

  Well, how many have you actually sat down and spoken with. You say ex jw always just start bashing the watchtower when discussing the bible. You cant say they all do because i doubt you have spoken to that many to throw them all in there like that. But you have to understand that some are angry at that organization for their lies and treatment of people. But we can discuss the bible anytime without even bringing up the wt.

  so lately my wife and i have been arguing alot.

  not big arguments...but more of a bickering.. you see, over the last year i have stepped down as an ms and we moved halls.

  last november was around the time i woke.. during this time we still have family studies....but only from the bible.

  Does she know that your not down with the org anymore. If not, then maybe she can sense somethings not right. When i was still in and my 20 yr. Old son was fading, he wouldnt talk to me about it but i saw it and it messed me up where i missed meetings and field service for it. If she does know how you feel and you want to still be with her, talk with her, respectfully, and try to make things right. Dont bash her on these sites, many of us were brainwashed at one time by this.

  so i travel alot for business and check into a hotel, start putting away my things and lo and behold in a bureau drawer, find a couple of wt's a couple of awake's and two tracts.

  1. throw them in the trash and forget about it.

  2. leave them where they lay and forget about it.. 3. leave a note for the housekeeper asking to lay off the cult recruitment.. 4. bring it to the attention of the management, and possibly get the housekeeper fired.. thanks for your input.

  i don't know about ya'll, but i did not appreciate the 1980s enough.

  i was too busy lamenting how different they were from the 1960s and 1970s to bask in and appreciate how wonderful they were.. this is 80s music, especially new wave music, and 80s fashion and culture appreciation thread.

  what did you love about the 80s?

  I loved the 80s. I graduated in 86. I loved Billy Idol and Motley Crue. The Lost Boys was a great movie. Breakfast Club too. I miss those years.

  Why was such a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT thing as Internet not foretold in the Bible?

  jws claim that even such a small thing as proclaiming 1986 as the international year for peace was foretold in the bible.

  this raises the question: why was such a great thing as internet (the influence of which could not even be compared with anything in the history at all) not foretold in the bible?

  with internet and tv the world has become literally a global village!.

  Just because these things are great and important to us, doesnt mean they are to God. Also, while the internet is great for staying in touch with others and information and what not, its also great for thieves or hackers and a huge hunting ground for child molesters.
