I hope Man City do the treble
by LoveUniHateExams inman united did the treble in 1999 under sir alex ferguson (the best manager in english football - sorry, city fans!
xd).. and now man city are just one game away from matching that achievement.. i'd just like to say that erling haaland is a phenomenon, a f**king goal machine.
this norwegian dude is just 22 years old, and everywhere he goes he scores a f**k-ton of goals - he breaks records.. case in point - his debut season in english football, he goes and smashes alan shearer's and andy cole's 34 premiership goals (haaland scored 36 premiership goals).

Biden running in 2024 🤣
by LoveUniHateExams ini've filed this under news and world events, although i could've posted it under entertainment, lol.
apparently, joe biden will be seeking re-election for another term in the white house.. this, despite a recent poll showing that 70% of people don't want him to run again.. biden just has to be the worst president i've seen.
his gaffes, over-relience on a prompter, and, more than any other president, his refusal to answer journalists' questions, all go to make him top of the list in terms of bad presidents.. it will certainly provide entertainment, if nothing else..

The corrosive nature of CRT
by LoveUniHateExams indiane abbot has been temporarily suspended from the labour party whilst they investigate her behaviour.. what's she done?.
it was leaked that a first draft of a letter she was going to write had the claim that jews can't experience racism.. the influence of crt is obvious.
according to this warped worldview, there are two types of people, oppressors and oppressed.

Interesting episode on Triggernometry
by LoveUniHateExams inyeah, it's about a secret government agency spying on its own citizens.. no, not some police state such as china, but here in britain.. it was apparently used to spy on uk citizens who were critical of government on covid lockdown.. one jaw-dropping section is about government trying to have or having the power to ankle-tag people who haven't broken any law but are considered 'disruptive'.. interesting watch.. https://youtu.be/sf2vlc2j1e8.

RIP Barry Humphries
by LoveUniHateExams incomedy legend barry humphries passed away yesterday aged 89. he was the genius behind dame edna everage and sir les patterson.. humphries was also an intellectual, with a huge personal library of first prints and rare editions.
he apparently dropped out of studying law because he found it 'boring', from what i remember reading about him.
instead, he created a number of comedy characters - as much for his own amusement as ours.. here's to a long life, well-lived 🥂.

My favourite female protagonists: Ellen Ripley
by LoveUniHateExams innext is ellen ripley, played by sigourney weaver, of the alien franchise.. ripley only just beat the xenomorph in ridley scott's alien (1979).. she spends most of james cameron's aliens (1986) dealing with and overcoming her trauma.
eventually, she seriously kicks ass.. she also becomes a surrogate mommy to newt, the abandoned girl who the space marines find on lv-426.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qssrxuhfawy.

My favourite female protagonists: Ellen Ripley
by LoveUniHateExams inand my next favourite female protagonist is ellen ripley, played by sigourney weaver.. ripley only just survived in ridley scott's alien (1979).. the sequel, james cameron's aliens (1986), was mostly about ripley overcoming her trauma from the first film.. she also ends up seriously kicking ass.. ripley is probably my favourite protagonist of all time.. the following clip is lovely.

My favourite female protagonists: Jackie BrownÂ
by LoveUniHateExams ini've already spoken about how big film studios have given us shitty female protagonists such as rey and she-hulk and the like.
and i've also posted stuff about the female protagonists i like.. so, i think it would be good if i devoted an op to each female protagonist that i think is great.. first up, jackie brown, played by pam grier in jackie brown (1997), directed by quentin tarantino.. jackie brown is an ordinary flight stewardess who finds herself caught up between drug smuggler ordell robie and the fbi.. it's a great film.. https://youtu.be/aixayclox7q.
