The Woman who won't give you the time of day: How dare she ignore you?! You are the big man.

The Thinking Woman: God gave her a brain, but Who gave her the command to use it?! Thinking leads to Ideas. Ideas lead to Independence. Independence from the MEN!

The Frumpy Woman: She refuses to dress up and parade herself for your benefit. She will not allow herself to be ogled like a piece of meat. Just who does she think she is? A human being?!

The Employed Woman: She has a job. She earns money. With this money she is free. Free from our control! No longer can we keep her barefoot and in the kitchen. No longer can we keep her at home raising babies.

Yes, we BIG Men face many challenges in these 1950's that we seem to be stuck in. How will we retain our control on the womenz?!

i've had a life long fascination with native americans, starting of course as a kid who watched westerns, and then learning of about their true culture and spirituality.

i have often wondered how jws in other countries, particularly the us, would interact with the indigenous people of their country.

do any americans here have any stories about witnessing to native americans?

My First CLAM Meeting

i carried out my monthly "cover" visit to the k.h.

tonight.

as previously discussed on this forum, the clam meeting is just a rehashed, recycled, reshuffled, & rebranded ministry school and service meeting.

The young married couple in front of me kept themselves occupied by whispering sweet nothings to each other throughout the meeting.

Ha! That is me. The whispers are a mix of sweet nothings and pointing out contradictions. Like these two, one week apart!

Then I tell the nurse what thoughts I would like to include in a letter to the relatives of the one who died, and the nurse types the letter. With the letter, I send the brochure When Someone You Love Dies,* which explains the Bible’s comforting hope of the resurrection. I do this every Sunday afternoon. It makes me happy that I can still share the good news of God’s Kingdom with others.”
