  Tell me is a bathing suit indecent? the human body yes is a beautiful thing. The mind is sometimes messed up. Get it out of the gutter. oh!! I'm going to stop going to the beach. Yea right. I think its indecent to watch someone give a talk for an hour (morris) with white foam on the side his mouth and nobody telling him or giving him a hanky. You have To remember that some of our WORLDLY leaders and law makers are messed up and perverts too.

  Stepping off?

  an ex-bethelite (now an elder in a jersey congo usa) called me the other day and opened up to me about wanting to step down, mainly because he thought he was being a bit overwhelmed.

  he mentioned that he spoke to the co about it and some of the socalled friends in the congo .

  they put him on this guilt trip.

  An ex-bethelite (now an elder in a jersey congo USA) called me the other day and opened up to me about wanting to step down, mainly because he thought he was being a bit overwhelmed. He mentioned that he spoke to the CO about it and some of the socalled friends in the congo . They put him on this guilt trip. What advice can I give him on this. I myself was a elder for 13yrs before I stepped off. never been happier. About 2yrs ago an elder came to me talking about me reaching out again. I told him straight up I don't need to be an elder to get my D%@K HARD (SO TO SPEAK). HE ACUALLY laughed.  But he never ask that again. What should I tell him? Don't really know if he knows the TATT.

  i have read the site with great interest over the last few weeks.

  some interesting stuff thats for sure.. i have left the jehovah's witnesses (was almost going to say the 'truth') for some time now.

  i was one of the lucky ones that was baptised then faded, no humiliating disfellowshipping but nonetheless was very hard to get myself out.

  well, i have been lurking on this site for several months and i recently decided to join as a member.

  i have made several observations and would like to make a few comments.. first, i am perplexed by the attitude of many on this site that are either former or active (but apostate) jws.

  they seem to have a strong hatred for the wts and also for rank and file jws.

  Two pet peeves of mine

  there are two things that just drive me crazy.

  one is that the art work in the watchtower is treated like they are actual still photo's taken thousands of years ago.

  your will hear comments about look at the smiles on their faces or the sadnees or happiness in their eyes, or notice the reaction of the crowd, etc.

  you notice too, how their pictures on the study articles always show these prestine beutiful clean areas in fieldservice? Truly a misrepresentation of what really is. I know my territory dont look like this. And where I came from low income projects. So they dont work the slum areas, or low income areas? Something is strange with this. Man how they play with peoples minds

  Another Elder Steps Down

  the wonders of facebook have accidently made my paths cross with the sister of this particular elder who served in my circuit (london) for many years and would have probably been made an elder at the very beginning of the arrangment in the early 1970's he knew my father very well, spoke at ca's visting speaker etc, and was a member of the hlc, he resigned a few years ago, he was a real hard core make no bones about it and would have been one of the very last you's expect to step down and leave, just goes to show..

  I would rather call it stepping off. I stepped off 2003. Served for 13yrs, never been happier. Them JWs cant understand why I so much happier now. Some treat me like I was put on restictions or something. CRAZYYYYYYYYY

  Did anyone notice saliva in the corner of his mouth when he was speaking???? that was gross Someone should of gave him a napkin or something. I lost my appetite looking at him.   just out of the blue i asked my wife whos been a jw for some 30 odd years can she explain the overlapping doctrine.

  she said to me she never heard of this and said she will have to look it up.

I thought oh S#^%!. Are we going to the same meetings?? My wife is not slow shes pretty sharp. So I said, OK let me ask one of our friends her friend a (sister) can she explain it. Same responce!!!! Mines was too OH S##@!

  What percentage of the JW world do you think dont know or can explain this doctrine, and more importantly how this affects them as one of JWs YOUR thoughts please

  JWs - A View From Outside

  i never was a jw (i make this point in - almost - every post) but having been brought up ('raised' for our us cousins) in a non-conformist fundy sect with 'rapture' aspirations, it wasn't that different.. i still have extended family members in it, or in that mindset, but we rarely discuss religion.

  in particular, my sister and bil lost their son (my nephew) some years ago when he was just 13. their comfort is that he is in a 'better place' and i don't want to challenge that to them.. i keep up with all things jw here in this forum and maintain my academic interest and these are just my thoughts as an outsider, for what they are worth.. ime, those people who have heard of jws tend to lump them in with mormons and other crazies and have no knowledge or interest in them - other than to warn neighbours when they are about.. where i live should be prime 'witnessing' territory but they rarely come round, even in the recent leafletting campaign.

  they are not as effective as the people who regularly call with the latest menus from the local curry/chinese/kebab houses.. on the occasions when jws have called, despite invitations to come in and have a cup of tea, etc., none has ever wanted to engage in conversation, far less progress to an invitation to a kh meeting or start a bible study (and i always present myself as an 'imterested householder').. my conversations with people in general and friends in the real world lead me to conclude that few people have heard of jws, those that have regard them as a minor irrevelant nuisance and that there is no interest in their message or beliefs.. a few months ago i did a 'drive-past' of the million pound seafront property in bangor, north wales that wt recently bought for use as a 'translation office' (ha ha!).
