Do you feel that you are really YOU?

i am interested in finding out how you view yourself.

are really you when it comes to every day interactions....ie when at work, with family or friends, or if attending meetings?.

if still attending, do you feel you are not the real you at meetings?

I've been me all along,

Always different from the others,

Always doing what I thought was right by me,

As a teenager the only pioneer in the Congregation,

Through adulthood the only one visiting the sick and elderly,

Pretty much a loner

Out of step with "Jehovah's Army"

Unsuccessfully fought the AntiBeard Regulations,

I'm the only one I know who researched in a Christian College Library,

When I gave that talk nobody knew!

Well I am different,

There are people who think that I'm evil,

I don't think so

My Mom's of a similar age,

They've had a long time to decide what they want to do with

themselves at this point of course,

So if they're happy they're happy,

What I object to are little kids being forced,

And being "indoctrinated" by which I do mean brainwashed,

When it takes so long to undo the damage,

Striking Out On My Own

those of you who know my story are aware that i'm currently disfellowshipped and living with my parents.

up until now, my plan has been to be reinstated and then fade, but recently my plans have changed.

in a conversation with my mother a few days ago and she made it clear that she would not be okay with me getting reinstated with the purpose of going inactive.

the test now on them is about just how they are treating their unlawfully excluded (disfellowshiped) brothers & sisters, as foretold at isaiah 66. at present they sit in judgement on us the growing great crowd who have come out & they are prepared with hard- heartedness to condemn their brothers & sisters to a final everlasting death, by running away as spiritual cowards refusing us a cup of life giving water (truth) matt 10: to explain the apostasy in their temple the disgusting thing in the holy place.

Would human settlement of Mars invalidate Bible prophecy?

i don't think this topic has been discussed before but yesterday i read something to the effect that trump wants a human mission to mars to be completed within his presidency.. with that being said, the watchtower teaches that what started on earth ends on earth, in other words, the fall of adam and eve would end with the passing of the 1,000 year millennial reign when christ destroys all his enemies, rebellious "perfect" humans, and the devil and his demons who are let out the abyss for a short while.

he then hands the kingdom back to his father.

an elder in my old congregation once told us during a public talk that he was an ardent astronomer but then referenced the scripture where it says, "the earth he has given to the sons of men" (psalms 115:16).

How did you feel when you got baptized?

back in 2005, i remember sitting in the stadium in the special rows with 42 others.

8000 people were looking at us - maybe even with a binocular - while listening to the speech.

my family and my friends among them, being all proud of me.. i don't remember being enthusiastic.

Scientism - Nothing But a Childish Insult?

it is not uncommon for theists to accuse rational people on this forum of "scientism".. in my opinion it is nothing but a cheap shot from those who know they lack evidence for their beliefs.

if something like "scientism" actually does exist then i have never encountered it.. here is part of an exchange from another thread - i have brought it here as it was off-topic.... scientism = claim of scientific method being universal and the only valid method of knowledge.

followers of scientism always demand scientific evidence to anything.

I thought that the scripture in Acts was interesting because it showed that

first century Jews rightly viewed Christians as Jewish Apostates,

Abrahamic religion has a long line of Apostasy,

We have Jews calling Christians Apostate,

Christians calling Muslims the same,

Muslims cry out "Apostasy" at every turn,

Now the Jehovah's Witnesses,

Ironically the JWs themselves in a self proclaimed effort to "cleanse

themselves" and restore themselves to "true doctrine" themselves have

apostasized from mainstream Christianity,

No progress could be made in any field of human endeaver unless

currently held ideas could be questioned,

To bad the JWs feel a need to demonize and burn at the stake those who

do nothing more that CT Russell did,

This is pure arrogance

skimming though my iphone earlier today i came across a fb post - which i now can't find!.

basically it was a claim that a gb member had stated that associating with a disfellowshipped person was akin to sleeping next to a corpse.. so obviously i'm curious as to whether anyone else has come across this..
