by franticfran infinally after five years i have finally shut the door very firmly on the witnesses.
i have had this "sister" calling for over the last six months clearly trying to reactivate me,but never mentioning the reason why me and my family left the forfar congregation two years ago.
it was always any subject but the " elephant in the room" well today was the finale.

Our building was designed to contain two halls. We currently have four congo. *5 if you count the sign language one*Using the same building.
2 for each hall.

Counting service time in a creative way
by nevaagain incouting time and, how to count time while doing as little service as possible is often a hot topic around witnesses.
i even overheard pioneers discussing about it.
they call it "creative time counting" (i translated that phrase from a different language so bear with me ;-).

HubHi Nevaagain, so are you still in and trying to get your 10 every month?
You are right, they are being pressured by having to report. Quantity is more important then quality. Just think what the reports would look like if they only counted the time spent talking to people.
I once counted time spent with a group & CO 's wife, sipping hot chocolate, and writing not at home letters I would never send. It was a pleasant 2 hours.

How many of you followed the WTS direction on education years ago and have been screwed by it?
by Julia Orwell ini'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.
as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?
surely education should come first.

Village idiot, I dont think it is ever too late. Why you still have a good 20 or 30 years that you could use to pursue your passion.
Why dont you check about some courses? You might be able to get some grants or scholarships.

Welcome lonelyone, WOW, only 27. I am sorry your life has been nothing but pain so far. It really is hard watch someone you care about struggle.
I had a hard time understanding your post. I know English must not be your first language.
I can tell you are very concerned about your friend and you have limited options.
I think you need more practicable advice than trusting in God's healing.
Hopfully your friend can get professional help to realize life is worth living. Rebel is right- give your friend a listening ear but go easy on the God stuff.
If he was a JW then, he no doubt feels unworthy of God in this life and may think if he kills himself he will wake up in paradise.
I repeat he needs professional help.
