  Should JWS wear ties?

  the vikings made enslaved residents of coastal towns wear a lenght of rope around their neck to remind of the dismissal procedure in case of opposition.. in view of the milististic/pagan connections as well as links to slavery practised by professed members of christendom,should jws wear ties?

  Heels!!!!!!! I remember when I first starting going out on service, I would get all decked out and wear shoes with heels!!!!! What a dork! After a while, I realized that none of the women wore heels, they all wore flat shoes. So many GOODmemories!

  You can betcha that the old guys up there in brooklyn think that the "Father Knows Best" era will carry over into the "paradise earth." This is evident in their pictures. Some paradise. I have always thought that the WTBS could never get out of the 50's mentality. You know, dresses for women, men with ties, women home all day cleaning for the man to come home to a sterile house and perfect children, etc.... How could they know that the world has changed up their in their ivory watchtower, still living in a time past! They need to have a wake up call.

  ive been reading these posts and some on other websites for awhile now, trying to figure things out for myself.

  im still a jw, a non-believing one if you will.

  i more or less grew up as a jw, my father was an alcoholic and my mother became a jw when i was a kid.

  My mother was also an alcoholic. The children of alcoholics do tend to have low self esteem, along with many other issues. That is certainly true in my case. You couple that with the JW guilt and fear they pile on you constantly, and I give you alot of credit for surviving to this point!

  I don't know if this is in all the "paradise" drawings or pictures put out by the society, but I came to notice that most of the men in those false futuristic drawings have NO ties on!

  How come the men get to wear no ties but the poor women have to still wear dresses??? Most of the women and girls in these pictures are wearing dresses or skirts while they are doing gardening, cutting flowers, playing with the bears, romping in the woods, etc......... Well, when I enter into the new system I will protest and WEAR PANTS!!!!!!! Besides, I don't think dresses are appropriate apparel for cleaning up all the dead bodies left over from armageddon!

  Does Our Arguing Scare People Off???

  with so much going on over here, do you think that newbies, lurkers, or potenial apostates could or do get scared off from this place?

  if someone is on the fence and they want to explore the internet and are warned that all you'll see are disgruntled apostates, could these forums make them think the "faithful and discreet slave" is actually right?

  Your picture looks like Sally Field, you know, the movie star!!! Is it really you? I love Sally Field. I think she is one of the great actresses of our time. Starting watching her back in the days of The Flying Nun! Whopps, dating myself again!

  And as far as the arguing scaring people off, I can't speak for others, but it didn't in my case. When lurking, if I didn't like the tone of a post, I just moved on. Others I think also do the same.

  Shoveling Snow

  some have complained that the bill bowen/ray franz problem is being talked to death, that it's time to move on.

  i think that's a little unfair and very unrealistic.

  those that continue to comment, comment mostly because the "snow" keeps falling folks!

  Elders admit huge numbers leaving

  my daughters boyfriend was at his moms the other night and the elders just happened to stop by and talk with him.. anyhow, after their discussion about him and my daughter and the baby and what they are going to do, (havent been to meetings in 7 months mind you), her boyfriend told the elders that he no longer wanted to attend meetings and my daughter told them the same.. the elders admitted to them that there is a huge number of people that felt the same way, and the halls are much emptier than they ever were.. hmmm, i wonder why?.

  if you did, i am sad to report that yesterday her 14 month daughter died.

  Will God intervine?

  or is this life on earth only a testing or proving ground for an eternal life elsewhere?

  as jw's we were taught that god will intervine in the world and bring the earth to a unified state under a theocratic government.

  so, is man capable of maintaining the earth without intervention from a "higher source"?

  Nope.

  I echo gumby's sentiments completely. We can pray, wish, have faith, what ever you want to call it, for God to come to the rescue. But his track record as of late hasn't been very good.

  I fear for humankind and all living things on the earth if tensions that now exist erupt into a nuclear exchange among the superpowers of this planet. Even a limited nuclear exchange will change life as we know it.

  If there is a God, Now Would Be A Good Time To Come To The Aid of Your Children.

  You know, I loved Dr. Phil when he first was on the Oprah show.

  But, after he was there for awhile, he got kind of cocky! I really don't think it is necessary on nationwide(worldwide?)TV, to insult people and make them cry to get a satisfactory result. He seems to bent on getting good ratings instead of treating people with the dignity they deserve. I really don't know why some of those people agree to be on the show with him! Don't they know they will be verbally abused in front of the entire audience and the public watching? Tough Love, I guess. It just seems to me that you would have to be nuts to be on his show if you know that he was going to aim his tirade at you!
