by Sour Grapes inat the meeting today several elders commented about the wonderful program that they attended yesterday on the new kingdom hall designs.
they said that the new halls are going to be so beautiful with lots of windows and glass panels and that the lights will be kept on in the lobby 24/7 so that you can see into the hall at night and that thousands of these halls must be built.
then five minutes later they are talking about how close the end is and that we will be meeting in basements in the near future.

American Sniper - courage or cowardice?

some are making a big stink about it and claiming that "snipers are cowards".
it seems unfair to me.

The work of a sniper, of course, is quite the opposite of that carried out by that of weapons of mass killing. Snipers seek out specific individual targets, usually enemy officers - the very antithesis of indiscriminate slaughter.
Smiddy makes a valid point. My view would be to refer to them as protagonist and antagonist depending on where one's sympathies/loyaties lie.As for cowards and heroes- imo, it's situational .One's control on fear or lack of it in a given scenario. Let's say a person sees his friend drowning, But for reasons known only to him, doesn't go out to rescue him. The same person ,on the other hand rushes into a burning building to rescue a baby while sustaining severe burns.
There is the motivation factor. Is one willing to die for a cause? The movie brings out the dichotomy in the mental makeup between the two brothers. While one feels the cause is worth dying for the other wants to end it and go home.Subjectivity ,too, plays a big part in deciding who is which in any given situation. My personal view is - I'm sitting in my favorite couch wrapped outside of a cozy drink and an aromatic cigar. The Al Quaida, ISIS , are unrelenting in their efforts to enslave all into their idea of what the world should be -at gunpoint!!. The American marines and all members of the American armed forces have my undying gratitude ,respect and honor for doing what they do - for keeping me safe from circumcision and making that cozy drink, couch and the Cuban possible !!

IMO. There are three essentials that stop Watchtards from breaking away.
1. A certain comfort level they have developed within the village despite CD. The false sense of security ( from the wicked world) among their'loving' brothers and sisters coupled with the exclusivity that goes with their retarded mind sets programmed by the mind control, doctrinal mumbo-jumbo . Some are so dependent on people within the organization that they will not interact with anyone else outside the org. A few yers ago one Eldub told me he was getting his taxes done by a sister who was charging him $350. This guy is a retired carpet cleaner and he and his wife get SS. When I told him I got mine done for $ 125 from an outside agent ,he looked at me in disbelief. He still gets it done by the sister-who, by the way, is an eldubs wife in a neighboring congregation.
2. Relatives and loved ones shunning them and the sense of shame that shunning generates. Rejection is a terrible psychological wall that few care to climb over.

A god who sends his prodigy to preach only to a certain arbitarily selected tribe of people who are not going to listen or obey. His preaching/teaching was for "all men". So their holy book claims. Never in any of the documented history of this particular people has their messiah ever spoken to a black man ;nor do these make mention of any other group/tibe or race of people being addressed.All their heroes are of the tribe yet the world is asked to believe that their diety is a god for everyone. The tribes came out of Egypt. Freed from slavery by their diety. What of the other slaves not from their tribes? No mention is made of them or what their fate was after the tribals left for the promised land. Why would a 'just diety' rescue a certain group of people from slavery while abandoning others who were suffering the same fate if he was a god for "all men". The OP is one of the many glaring examples of the condonation of slavery by a diety who is,supposedly touted as a god of love. -

A sniper is somebody who is streets ahead of the rest in marksmanship. A terrorist ,on the other hand, is a fanatic ,who is equally willing to die or kill unless he gets what he wants.
