  Every time I hear this song it reminds me of a young boy in my congregation in Oklahoma that I had a crush on. We were only kids and it was innocent. My twin sister and I were friends with his sister, and my sister had a crush on his younger brother.

  One time his mother found a note that we had written back and forth and she was FURIOUS!!! I think the note was one of those:

  I like you, do you like me? Yes or No, (kid stuff)

  She called my mother and yelled her out. And that was it. I later heard as I had grown older and we had moved away that the kids had suffered severe abuse from their parents. This brought tears to my eyes, the kids were so sweet. I wish I could reconnect with them, but lost contact. I hope he and his brothers and sisters got help.

  An oil pastel for Robdar and this forum

  when i first found this forum it was a year after september 11. i had recently seen the dateline special on the pedofiles in the organization and was completely dismayed.

  everyone on this board has inspired me through the last couple or so years, especially robdar.

  she told me to start doing my artwork again to express my thoughts.. here is something i did when i was younger, but scanned it in to the computer and in photoshop and retouched it some.

Everyone on this board has inspired me through the last couple or so years, especially Robdar. She told me to start doing my artwork again to express my thoughts.

  Here is something I did when I was younger, but scanned it in to the computer and in photoshop and retouched it some. I have recently started on a very contraversial piece, that I may share when I am finished.

  I am slowly regaining my life back, I am working again, several people on this forum encouraged me when I had been laid off. Thank you,

  How long, how long must we sing this song..." U2...

  My love goes out to all of you in London and abouts, I woke up to the news this morning when the TV alarm went off, I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. I was just numb. Like a repeat of 9-11.

  I am happy to hear you are safe Crumpet and hope everyone is ok.

  Chachasmum and I send our love to those of you going through this hell.

  after clicking on each one of those symbols listed and matching under the (watchtower) name, the reader found u.n. resolutions with a vote of (yes) located beside the words (voting summary) in scans #4 and #6. scan # 4 listed a vote of (yes) u.n. meeting no.

  scan #5. if we had clicked on the 2nd un symbol that was located back on scan # 3, then we would come up with this page, which shows another (yes) vote by (total voting membership) or 015---------see scan # 6 (this scan)------------then scan # 7 will show what was voted on (found by clicking on (full english text) see this scan and last scan # 7----coming after this one.. .

  Randy!!! at first on the website I felt like Julia Roberts in "Conspiracy Theory" (I was actually scared) and I quickly hit the back button on my computer. But, as I read your scans I had to just find out if this is true. So I hit on the link and went to the votes link and got to the page to type in the organization. I did what you said first, typed W. Nothing happened but then Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. I saw the two links and really felt like Julia Roberts, especially after reading what they voted on.

  There was something mentioned on Lou Dobbs on CNN the other night about NGOs and the United Nations (the legitimacy of some).

  This thread will feed my paranoia for at least a few days (see jws in my neighborhood all the time).

  Do you sense "a sense of urgency" in the congregations?

  now that we're in the 21st century, and all those pre-millenium worries that a few had about armaggedon seem to have gone, everyone seems to be getting on with their lives, buying homes, going on cruises and planning for their retirement.. not everyone does these things, but there is so little talk about the great tribulation, armaggedon and the new system, you can't help but wonder if they are just going through the motions.. i see young people at the hall - they couldn't care less about spiritual things, although they may comment and go out in service.. i see people in the 30s quietly getting on with life - a few are building their own homes from scratch, others are planning on moving and some have bought new cars.. nothing wrong with this, but each of these things show an investment in the future.

  a car has to be paid for (if its a lease), a home needs a 15/25/30 year mortgage and this all takes time.. time with a capital "t".. let's face it - the urgency is gone.

  no one thinks about the "time of the end" and everyone does their own thing.. families are still having children.. one of my college professors once asked me: "how do you know that people have confidence in the future?".

  The elders and GB may get more respect if they stopped browbeating and disfellowshipping witnesses.

  That is exactly how I feel Orangefatcat.

  Also, as for the sense of urgency...I remember the elders and GB admonishing to:

  wait past the bloom of youth...til marriage

  wait til the new system...to have children, etc.

  It really makes me angry and dismayed everytime I think about it all.

  A Question for former bethelites?

  my sister and i were talking the other day and she told me that when you are first assigned to bethel they make you sign a letter of secrecy or something like "secret service agreement"?

  i was just wondering if this is true.

  if it is true then don't you agree that it is a hot bed for paranoia?.

  I know of one couple who left Bethel because the wife was eaten up with paranoia almost to the point of a break down. It's really sad to see young people going through this at such early ages.

  so ladies,,,,speaking of sex and the city,,,,at the end of the show,as we have watched the characters evolve ,which one do you indentify most with?

  if not that show what about another character on another show?.

  for the men, how about you,,,,,,,,what show character do you identify with,,,,,maybe someone off of the soprano's , seinfield, wings, cheers, queer as folk, etc.
