  Watchtower sued for Racketeering in California

  a little birdie informed me that a lawsuit against the watchtower bible & tract society, its legal department, and several individuals (perhaps lawyers in the legal department) has been filed in the superior court of the state of california, county of los angeles for, wait for it.... racketeering!.

  that's right, folks, you heard it here first.

  i have no other information, other than the case was stamped "aug 07 2015" and the docket number appears to be bc590675.

  shunning verses victamization

  i know i`ve put this out there before but i want to put it in a different context & see what you think.

  i`ve shunned my parents for 20 years (farther, step-mother) because they victimized me every day of my life as a child, believe me when i tell you that writing this , is unbelievable hard, it is making me shake & cry to be pulling up the memories.

  all of what happened i could have forgiven, but one thing.

  I would say that they are tearing peoples lives apart. Now that you have put it in this context.

  Then again. I have never agreed with shunning, as I am one of those "shunned" by the WTBTS standards. And we all know they have put a theocratic, spiritual spin on it.

  I always knew about "Theocratic Warfare". That is the exact term I heard only three years ago when having a progressive study toward baptism. Of course in the third stage of questions, it was not put to me in such a blunt manner. Yet. When I asked outright of the elders who were conducting my last schedule of questions......" Is this what you call TW in terms of where my loyalty will lie?" The answer was a definitive yes!

  I have my baptism question book here next to me and will look it up; try to see how this part of questioning was presented to me.

  The way the elders used it was one of those classic and misleading ways. It showed no courage really, merely a desire to escape unscathed in every way.

  This was a good move under the radar.

  The higher up people are in this religion, the less inclined they are to reveal a damned thing. Information has been hidden and twisted right out of proportion. Justice McClellan is good in that he "..finds information out and is absolutely unashamed to let people know that he has been enlightened. That he is being informed". This is why I really do like him and always have.

  Mr Stewart and he, work well together, almost like reading each others minds or subtle nuances. Then there are those behind the scenes who are faceless but very dedicated. I have never had one instance of being ignored, disbelieved, minimized or left feeling alone. I do hope that you people don't think this was a one hit wonder or a toothless tiger. It is not so. It may die down as in...."not in the papers" for a time, but this happens. When you heard him talk about two years time or more. That WT lawyer laughed. I said to the commission person who called me yesterday that the reason he laughed was very likely......" because that man is a Jehovah's Witness, and they expect Armageddon to wipe all of us out before then". She was quite stunned at this angle, this incredibly JW angle of viewing the entire world. She said........" I can hardly believe the things I am learning about this religion. Things we were not made aware of..."

  Okay, I suppose it won't hurt to reveal. Firstly there are many people the Commission is still interviewing and this will go on for quite some time.

  When I was contacted yesterday (Friday) about my testimony, I asked if they had given up on Geoffrey Jackson, and was told "No, we are working on that one now". Therefore, he is still in Australia and they had been aware of when he arrived etc.

  What seemed to ......piss (forgive the language but it fits) them off, was the deception used to minimise his importance as a GB member. I'm sure by now that I have done no harm in saying this. For " this is a dreadful apostate site after all.........". There are over 300 people that work on the team. I was also told that they had received valuable information via emails from all over.

  I have no doubt that some of you may well have sent information in. Americans can be "fearless" in many ways. This is not to insult my own country or any other, but we have some here who are quite afraid of being traced........all sorts of anxieties happen when ones religion has let them down and they just don't know what to do....and become afraid they may lose family and friends of long standing. They need their families and have loved their friends.........to lose them is terrifying for some.

  This forum helped me. Only one person sort of attacked me in the sense that this person thought, erroneously, that I didn't know what I was talking about. One person out of so many...........is nothing......

  WTLeaks? Is that the one you are talking about? So many witnesses download the answers to questions that are sometimes added to the mid week Ministry document provided only to active Jehovah's Witnesses. My sister does, my niece does, my study conductors got it from their son who is an elder; to my amazement. That is when I became a bit suspicious.

  I think this is the one with the warning from " Anonymous". Not much ever came from the so called data base they claimed to have accessed. At one point I managed to "accidentally" read the script running behind the actual screen. Just a lot of talk about types of Hyper Text Transfer Protocols...http..... and such. My husband used to program in different languages in the late eighties up to 2000. He would have sourced whether this group were legitimate.....He died in early 2000.

  do you think that any of the clueless, amnesiacs that appeared before the rc will have a crisis of conscience over the abuse situation?

  seriously, with the grilling they received from our new heroes, they would have to be sociopaths not to do some long hard thinking about the lack of empathy and compassion the borg displays as a top down policy towards abuse victims.

  i can understand these idiots not having an awakening within the confines of their daily lives since they stay cloistered in their belief system, but the rc forced them into the real world with their questions and one would hope, made them think.

  dubstepped. That was a good one wasn't it. I had not thought about this line of questioning at all. I was too intent upon the WT within. When the questioning led this elder to the logical conclusion that they were in effect endangering not only their own children but the children of other people "worldly children at that". It was a terrific moment.

  as far as i can imagine, the .org is in a lose, lose, lose situation right now.

  if jackson shows to the rc, and policy chages, then bible interpretation was changed sans-holy spirit.

  policy change is an admission of guilt, not helpful in future civil court cases.

  Australia is a small part of the WT, but a big part of the Australasian WT. The broadcasts that take place from here go throughout the Asian regions including New Zealand, this is why there is a Bethel here.

  Now as to distorting the actions of the RC, I have seen attempts to discredit it on the JW friendly sites. However, even these attempts are lacking in substance. The transcripts are public, the hearings went to Utube via people like Barbara Anderson and some others.

  Surely, this will be incontrovertible proof of what took place, word for word. No matter what the hard line JWs will say, this is not something they can reasonably take down or discredit to some of those who will be asking the hard questions. I was a still a little "in" if you like, but after watching day after day.......seeing and hearing lies........I could no longer support this religion. No. I could not lie to myself anymore. That was a shock in a way.

  Steve2 and Sabin, Often when something is put in parenthesis like this " the loving provision of shunning". It implies (often) that the statement is a pejorative statement. Which means it is critical, satirical, condemning and so forth.

  This is why some people state a point of view using such "....." in closing their statement. It's a means of conveying and clarification to the reader.....

  Sorry, old English Teacher in me coming out.
