Do Jw men treat wives as Christ treats the church?

what has irked me lately is the way my mothers husband (elder bob) treats mom.

in typical jw fashion subserviant, always careful in speaking out of turn esspecially our weekly study( "bible study") er book study.. i have to find a way to work in the reference of treating wives the way christ treats the church and let elder bob stew on that, but being careful not to plant seeds of resentment, with mom.

Both my wife and I are Christians (trying not to use"born again") and what the bible teaches as far as husband/wife relationship hinges on the positional aspect of man/wife. I, in no way feel I am "better" than her, in fact I am nothing without her. I feel this ties in with Christ' relation to the father while he was on earth, a positional reference to the father as being "greater than I." Not better than or more important.

But this is not the case from what I see in my mothers house. Sometimes I feel like giving elder bob the ole "nose in the book treatment" from "Yosemite Sam" cartoon.

Enjoyed your post. Since God spoke everything into existence,and did it by himself and scripture tells us there is no where on earth we can hide from him. And he knows our hearts and thoughts and prayers before we pray. And predestines us and draws us. Contrastly:

If Jesus is not an angel, and he's not an "a god" and he can be worshipped and God shares glory with no one, and Jesus made everything, Jesus can grant a place in paradise, and Jesus is the "word" and the word was God. Like Melchizedek without beginning or end, the same yesterday, today and forever. Then naturally Jesus is omniscient, as well as omnipotent and omnipresent.

kingdom melodies did it for me everytime.. i tired so hard not to have uncharitable thoughts about the ppl who wrote the tunes and words to the kingdom melodies.

there were about 2 that i could stomach.. the rest were so totally uninspiring and mechanical.. .i can say that apart from maybe 2 i didnt get any up lifting joy from them.. elders complained that ppl wern't learning the tunes and singing properly.they got realy irritated over it .but i really really hate the dam songs .

eveyone sounded totally joyless

Refuting the whole WT Org in one question...

i'm testing my hypothosis here.... the question is this.... "does the wt org.

get special revelations from god today.".

if they answer "yes," then they are going against the bible which says that all scripture is complete.. if the say "no," then we can say, "then why do you say we should follow you.".

some people say that jws are very good at what they do.

they are highly trained in their doctrine.

one website said that they would blow the average christian away in an arguement.

i'm reading a fascinating book, god's best seller, by brian moynahan.

in it he documents how a few men like wycliff and tyndale risked their lives to make the bible available to the common people.

the catholic church violently opposed these efforts and persecuted all who were involved in the translating, publishing and distributing the scriptures.
