    Jgnat:

Here is my complaint. You represent yourself as a Christian, yet you fail to listen carefully to what your potential converts are telling you. Without checking, you assumed I was “fallen”. If we are of the same sisterhood, I want you to represent my faith better.

I believe that’s fair enough. Resonable grounds.

You had asked, “If the world had stuck to the 10 commandments don't you think we would be better off?” And I had responded: "How about the two? Love God and love your neighbour. I think many of us are still working on these two, and it turns out to be a lifetime project."

Now about love. It seems as though love is a tough feeling to comprehend. How do you love someone who has hurt you. Jesus showed us unconditional love in the time of His sacrifice up until now. I have two questions for you JG- why is it so hard to love people sometimes and do we really feel the love we long for?

Based on the threads started since, I really do believe you would be better off learning how to apply these two principles, instead of looking for evil all around you. You have a lot left to learn about compassion.

Are you saying that I lack compassion? That’s a very strange thing to tell me

But I wasn't ignoring you you know.

It took over twenty days for you to respond, Hibiscus, with over a half-dozen reminders from me. In that time you started up twelve new flaming threads. Even if you are having network problems, it hasn’t stopped you from carrying on elsewhere.

Actually you are right . Sorry.

About promiscuity. Hibiscus, you are grossly misinformed about history. http://solomonsrefuge.com/secret_room.htm Sexually transmitted diseases have been with us as long as humankind has existed. Porn on Sesame Street? Do we live in the same world? You seem inordinately obsessed with sex.

    Hold this thought.

Thank you Hibiscus, for responding to me in full, and so promptly this time. I am gratified, I really am. I’ll respond to your questions about love, though I fear you have answered these questions already to your own satisfaction, and may just be gearing up for a “preach”.

Here we go again.... (Simon, this was a direct post from Word)

How do you love someone who has hurt you.

Why is it so hard to love people sometimes?

Do we really feel the love we long for?

To explain how I perceive agape love, I will reverse the questions. You’ll see why in a minute.

    1. Do we really feel the love we long for?

I think this is why Jesus is described as the River of Life rather than the Lake of Life. The Mystery of God’s love is that no matter how much we give out, God fills us up faster. This goes against the earthly concept of diminishing resources. But it works. So, instead of seeking after love, have the reassurance that it is freely provided. Then, out of that great abundance, give it back out again as fast as you can.

The water in a lake or dam, on the other hand, stagnates. If you try and hoard God’s gift you end up losing it. Like manna in the desert.

    2. Why is it so hard to love people sometimes?

Regular people are not hard to love if I am living in a state of abundance. See question number 1.

    3. How do you love someone who has hurt you?

I hate evil. I won’t ever stop hating evil or speaking out against it. Jesus spoke out against injustice, so I do too. It is possible, however, to separate the person from the action. I forgive my abusive husband, for instance. That does not mean I won’t speak up if I see he is about to hurt someone else. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t turn him in if he did something illegal. Loving people are not doormats.

Sheesh. What did I ever do to you? ;)

awwwwe, FORCE. Don't be coy now. Have you noticed that people tend to pick avatars the OPPOSITE of their true nature? Like Minimus who puts the Maximus in his post count. Or that True Light or See the Light or whatever dude whose pursuing AlanF on a futile quest. If you shone a light on him he'd yell DEMONS. Has anybody actually measured Little's toe? Has a Friend in Need helped anybody? I'm a lot bigger than a gnat. How about Joyzabel? A sweeter, kinder lady one could hardly meet. And do we really believe that defd is DF'd?

There are exceptions of course, like Richie. I bet he's really rich on those short-order cook wages. And I really do believe that Hillary has climbed mountains.

The sexually transmitted diseases we have now did not exist when God created man. God is against homosexuality. That is perverted. He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for that same reason. Today you have homosexuals getting married. The priests are corrupted. The church is corrupted.

I’m not obsessed with sex…I am wondering why sex is becoming so open to youngsters. You know what they do….yes give out the condoms in school. GEEZ for school children who should be studying in school and living a normal childhood. Bert and Ernie are considered homos did you know that?
