    Damsel:

Hib~ you come across as a big contradiction. You claim to not be able to calculate a figure and then in the same sentence say it's about 80%. What jgnat is asking you to do is to think about the people you know, (really know not just assume that you do.) and if they are evil or not.

I estimated it to be 80%. And I am thinking about the people I know.

    Jgnat:

Hibiscus, if you do not see the individual people around you, you are blind.

Also, do you distinguish between sin and evil? I do.

Yes evil …they are like the devil’s hosts.

Sinful because they wouldn’t change from their wicked ways.

The average person knows about twenty other people well enough to be friends. So out of the twenty people you meet through the week, you believe that sixteen of them are evil and wish you harm? Only four of them you would consider "good"?

Who are the good people? Is one of them your mother?

OK, taking demonology out of it, let's look at behavior. What is sinful behavior, and what is evil?

I see sin as the breaking of any taboo. For instance, it would be sinful for a muslim woman to be in the presence of a strange man without her veil. But is her action evil?

I see evil as any deliberate harm on someone weaker. This inclusive definition includes Hitler, child molesters, and wife-beaters.

So, out of the sixteen people you consider bad, by my definition are they "evil" or "sinful"?

I consider them evil…. deliberate harm

Is one of them your mother?

Yes I consider her good…but not perfect as we all tend to make mistakes UNINTENTIONALLY and not to cause harm.

Wow, if I had sixteen people out for my deliberate harm, I'd never leave the house. Would you say that four out of five of the bus drivers you meet would do you harm? The dry cleaners? The shop owner? The servers at your favorite restaurant?

OK, your mom is a good person, not evil. Who are the others? Siblings? Friends? Neighbours?

    EVIL/SIN

Well where I live I don’t really travel with the bus…I don’t really like them too much. More taxi drivers and some of them talk a bunch of rubbish and others are ok…there are some who are involved in crime and you can’t say anything about it.

    I wash my own clothes.

Some of the shop owners like to mind your business a lot in my area. I prefer to go to the grocery instead … there people don’t tell you anything … the cashiers just do their job… I don’t know them.

Restaurants …well they …well from my knowledge, aren’t interested in the people unless they know them personally so I really can’t say if they are evil or sinful or not. I can’t judge that.

    GOOD

There are some good neighbours and friends (we consider as family) who are good. W.R.T. siblings well I have only 1 sib and we are totally different.

    So what about you????

one thing is for certain... you are living in an entirely different world than I am.

I know there are people out there who would do me harm if given the chance and motive. But I have to say that on most days 90% of the people I interact with are generally good people and certainly not out to harm anyone. I live in a city of 1.1 million.

I think generally because people keep to themselves where you live I guess. Here where I live people just want to know your business. They have nothing better to do. And they love to believe in witchcraft…A LOT OF IT. That certainly is not about God. There are some JW people who are ok but the they pay for the crime that the other family circle commit.

It would have been nice to just sit down and relax without someone “eying” what you have in your garden to steal at night.
