One of my work colleagues (at my forst job) was a real Trekkie. He came to work one day dressed in the Star Trek uniform (the red & white one from one of the films).

    Amazing !!

Has any else been the the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas?

This is how geeky I am. On our trip to the Grand Canyon we stopped at Vegas on the way back just to go to the Star Trek Experience. After eating at Quarks, my husband went off into the casino to gamble, but I just stayed in the Experience for several hours. Then we went on toward Death Valley.

Oh, and at lunch a Klingon came over to our table asked me if I had been on the ride yet. I replied that it was next on my list. He said, "Good thinking, human. At these prices you should get to taste the food twice." LOL!

When Clinton was President one of the members of a jury in Arkansas involved in one of the myriad of murky Whitewater related scandals showed up for duty in a Star Trek uniform every day.

By the time the started "fixing" things with stories by Manny Coto, the decision had already been made. I knew when I first heard the theme song that things were fated to go bad. I just got the First Contact DVD.

I am hoping that Sci-Fi picks it up like it did Stargate (Showtime) (and now Stargate Atlantis) and Andromeda.

I hope that Sci-Fi will pick up Star Trek and rejuvenate it like they have done with Battlestar Galactica.

They've done a great job with Galactica. Far, far better than the original.

Out of interest, I have actually been to Vulcan and had dinner there.

They even had pointy-ears for sale and the restaurant was shaped like the saucer section. Not bad for a 'small town'.

I think it has something to do with the Vulcan bomber.

I am sooooo jealous. They didn`t have that when I was in Vegas, many moons ago.

I went to an improv one night, they were doing `Star Trick`. They were all costumed up, and would ask the audience for suggestions. You know, they are landing on a planet of _____ audience fills in the blank, etc. Some of the characters were ...

    `Spork` `Snotty` and of course, `Captain Jerk`

My kids and I use to enjoy watching on Wednesday evenings. Two complaints I had. One, I grew tired of "angery" Captain Archer. Every minute he was going off on someone or something. Dude, chill out. Two, since it is a "family" show, and I watch it with my kids, the Ta'Pol and that chief engineer getting it on every 5 minutes was a bit much. Also, a whole season dedicated to one mission? Yawn...no thanks. Get Picard and he'd have it solved in one episode. lol. Next Generation was by far the best. For the most part, good acting and some great writting. Some of the religious and political issues they addressed were amazing.

I like Enterprise, but it took some getting used to at first. Has anyone seen the enterprise bridge mockup in Vegas at the Hilton? It's cool. Had my pic taken sitting in the captains chair. Hubby still laughs at me for that one. He is sooo not a trekkie.
