Have I misrepresented your position there? No I haven't! I also gave you a fairly simple example of how something can happen while a person is asleep and yet escape that person's notice. Of course you chose to ignore it though, possibly thinking that I was just trying to be funny. Well, I wasn't JUST trying to be funny. But let me give you more examples of things that people are known to have done while not awake, and because of not being awake they never knew they did them unless someone else revealed it to them.
Intoxication to the point of passing out is about the equivalent of a person being asleep.
