I suppose if they had shown outrage it would have become outrage porn?

I just clicked onto the home page of Pink News. Here are two examples of outrage or being judgemental in article titles:

'Shockingly racist’ UKIP-backed Brexit ad features Donald Trump comparing migrants to snakes

    and

Sadiq Khan does not want exemption from Trump’s ‘ignorant’ Muslim ban

Pink News journalists can call UKIP 'shockingly racist' and Trump 'ignorant' but they are unwilling or unable to express outrage/condemnation or be judgemental when extremists throw gays of tall buildings.

    Why?!

As a discussion in its own right it would be fine. But why on this thread? Why in discussions about Western and Christian/JW attitudes to gay people? It often seems to serve the function: "stop talking and saying Christians in the West have a problem, look Muslims are even worse". Pretty cynical. As I mentioned above, Muslims in the US are more accepting of gay people than JWs or Evangelicals.

But why on this thread? - good point. You may be right, SBF. Although if I started a thread about Muslims and homophobia, no doubt a few morons would call me Islamophobic.

It often seems to serve the function: "stop talking and saying Christians in the West have a problem, look Muslims are even worse" - no. It's called getting a proper sense of perspective. Some posters on this forum lack this.

Muslims in the US are more accepting of gay people than JWs or Evangelicals - and Muslims in the Middle East throw gays off tall buildings and stone them to death. In a thread about homophobia, it shouldn't be controversial or 'cynical' to point out this fact ...

One very small sect in the Middle East has thrown some people from buildings. This hardly characterises Muslims as a whole or Muslims in the Middle East.

To claim this is somehow representative is about as accurate as saying that JWs are cereal murderers since the Yorkshire Ripper converted to JWs.

As I pointed out above the Pew survey showed Muslims are far more accepting of gay people than JWs. I thought that was interesting!

Many gay JWs and Christians are driven to suicide because of prejudice.

So who really is lacking sense of proportion here?

ttdtt - Unlike animals, they can choose not to act on their impulses.—Colossians 3:5. (So practicing homosexuals are like animals -nice)

Perhaps the WBT$ refers to 'bears'

It amazes me that the WBT$ is passively aggressivly being anti-gay (no surprises there from a faux fundie cult), but through their actions, allow paedophiles to thrive within their ranks. You woul;d have thought that if they were that anti anything sexual that they'd really stop the paedophile thing. But then I suspect they are protecting the higher ups (GB), within the WBT$ who may be paedophiles themselves.

It's about protection alright, but protection from negative publicity. That's their main fear, so they just want to keep it all under wraps. They also need to be seen to doing the right thing, that's why all such cases get referred to HQ who then can decide what degree of hushing-up can be done without incriminating themselves legally.

You've forgot to mention that The Nusra Front has systematically driven gay men out of its territory in Syria. Gay people were safer living under Assad.

You've forgot to mention that any number of Saudi clerics agitate for the death penalty to be carried out against gay people.

You've forgot to mention that a whole swathe of MENA countries still have homosexuality as illegal. In Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Mauritania and northern Nigeria (the part controlled by Muslims), it's capital punishment for the gays.

who really is lacking sense of proportion here? - you and stupid people like you, without a shadow of a doubt.
