I agree that it breaks new ground in how explicit they are being. But i think one could always imply from statements qouted above like:

'inspired' relates to doctrine not behaviour and 'never perfect' surely means to have erred.
But they are saying it very clearly here and it is certainly striking.
The reality is, it doesn't matter about the specific teachings...
The REAL issue is: OBEY the GB in all things.
Since it's in the Feb. Watchtower, any major change won't occur until next fall.
So what was the motive for them to specifically say they err in doctrine?
Larger amounts of dubs being miffed at all the recent changes? Sort that by saying the GB err sometimes.
Big changes coming in core doctrine? Again sort that by saying the GB err sometimes.
I cant see them dropping the 144000 idea, how would that play out at memorial?that would be quite a stir, all the people who claim to be anointed, would get pretty upset and be viewed as 'mentally diseased' [unless they will finally split the two ideas and realize the 144000 are not necessarily also the anointed. as the anointed can be without set number....]
same with the blood issue, all these years forcing people to accept a rule about food ignoring obvious scriptures to support that, and having people die.
as for 1914, good possibility, because at this point Id be fairly certain that most newer Jws are clueless as to what it even means,and all the people who were supposed to see 'the end' are dead.
but maybe there will be a New idea presented, to be interwoven in with the already labyrinthine ideas they already have.

When I said "the anointed on the earth" I was meaning that to explain the increasing number on earth today they may eventually just say that those in the HQ that are on the GB are the only ones anointed...in line with the recent change that the FDS are only those at the HQ.
I think they may change just who the anointed or...not get rid of the idea. But either way, any change would be major...one they can now justify if they can now err in doctrinal matters!
Before my disfellowshipping was announced and my family were still speaking to me i told them all "things will change, they have to if this religion is to continue". They all said "no, no, the bible doesn't change" they didn't see the distinction.
Im guessing the GB are pondering how they can scrap the 1914 teaching while keeping their power. They may play the humble card. "The GB humbly admits that they were wrong in their interpretation" but quickly come out with a new prophecy which will create a happy buzz in the congregations.
It's by belief that when this GB are all dead, the new younger GB will scrap A LOT of the controversial rules and blame the deaths and broken families on the old GB.
Nothing
is interpreted but the interpretation comes from God and is then published.

How will they reconcile this with their directive to obey what the GB says no matter what they say?
