Theresa May the British P.M. has called for an election.

The House of Commons has to vote tomorrow and have a two-thirds majority to agree and the main opposition parties want it to happen too so it looks pretty certain to go ahead.

Theresa May seems to be a competent PM.

At the moment, Labour is a complete shambles - Corbyn is out of touch with most ordinary people on a range of issues so will never be PM - Labour isn't even an effective opposition.

Labour needs to be a good opposition party to stop the Tories getting away with blue murder.

    Prediction: re-election for May ...

If we send another landslide from Scotland how dare she refuse us a vote.

Lib Dems, SNP, Labour they are all shambolic. Good government requires strong opposition. Corbyn is a bad joke.

Brexit is happening. They should accept that and concentrate on holding the Tories to account.

I think the government will be returned with a strong majority.

By the way USA this is how to do an election. Six weeks from the starting gun to election day. The new government takes office the following day.

If we send another landslide from Scotland how dare she refuse us a vote - on what, another independence referendum?

BTW, May has not outright refused that vote, she's just refused it at this moment in time.

You've already had one. Do you want to keep having one every year until you get the result you want?

Scotland had its once in a generation vote on independence. They answer was No Thanks.

Time for SNP to focus on governing the country. Brexit is an excuse for Indy2. I know Scots who want out the EU but voted to remain in the hope of avoiding a second attempt by the Nats to divide the UK. Sturgeon said she would demand a second referendum regardless of the deal we negotiate with Europe. It's nothing but petty anti-English nationalism.

Maybe the SNP are as confused about the word generation as the Watchtower.

Theresa may the uk prime minister said... no general election necessary until 2020,she also said her government would implement the tory manifesto which her predecessor had written. ...both of these she has already U turned on. Her government has a majority and has won the votes re brexit seeing off the other contrary parties at Westminster, her governments position was secure..... why then the rush to election. This move is a big risk, many who voted for brexit are now not so sure....watch the fireworks !!
