And my choice for hardest to comprehend lyrics goes to Tin Man by America. What the heck is that song about anyway?

    Here's a snipet:

Oz never did give nothin to the Tin Man

That he didn't, didn't already have

And Cause never was the reason for the evening

Or the tropic of Sir Galahad

    What the????

Sometimes late when things are real
And people share the gift of gab between themselves
Some are quick to take the bait
And catch the perfect prize that waits among the shelves

But oz never did give nothing to the tin man
That he didn?t, didn?t already have
And cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of sir galahad.

    So please believe in me
When I say I?m spinning round, round, round, round
    Smoke glass stain bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
    Soapsuds green like bubbles

Oh, oz never did give nothing to the tin man
That he didn?t, didn?t already have
And cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of sir galahad

blinded by the light - ?

You either hate Manfred Mann's Earth Band or Bruce Springsteen. I can't stand Springsteen, but I like Manfred Mann's version. If you want a completely different version of this tune, try Allan Clarke (from The Hollies) doing it.

....and you had to bring up the Carpenters. yuck.

A few days ago I would have said Hayzee Fantayzee's "John Wayne Is Big Legee" was the worst song ever from the worst band ever, but now I have heard The Shaggs, and they are truly unbelievable!

Click on the album cover below and just listen to those samples!

Me, too, Tink. It was one of my highschool songs. A quick interpretation:

Sometimes late when things are real

And people share the gift of gab between themselves
It's after dinner and he and his guests have retired to the den for a rolicking game of Monopoly.

Some are quick to take the bait
And catch the perfect prize that waits among the shelves Monopoly often sparks conversations about religion and politics.

But oz never did give nothing to the tin man
That he didn’t, didn’t already have Never ask to borrow money from me.
And cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of sir galahad. They are discussing the meaning of life.

    Matty,

A few days ago I would have said Hayzee Fantayzee's "John Wayne Is Big Legee" was the worst song ever from the worst band ever, but now I have heard The Shaggs, and they are truly unbelievable!

Andy says: I have that CD and I think it's just precious. He also adds: Frank Zappa says The Shaggs are better than the Beatles. Kurt Kobain was a big fan, too. He read about them in the book: The Worst Albumns Ever Made he thinks or somewhere like that. He thought: this is something I must have. By the way, he went and dug it out and he's actually playing it. It's interestin'. He says they are like ten year olds. Edit: real as in bonafide ten year olds. Andy adds: it's avantgarde (albeit: unintentionally)without an iota(doncha just love the word iota-Heather) of pretention. I love my boyfriend ! I keep trying to get him to join the forum. You'd love him, too.

    Heather
