Soooo....let me get this straight, a sister can not work for a company that makes garments for the clergy but the Watchtower will sell a Kingdom Hall to a church. Our old KH was sold to a church. One day it was the house of Jehovah and the next day it was a house of Babylon the Great. HYPOCRITES!!!

@ - ToesUp - I dont think it is saying that rape IS fornication, which you are absolutely right, that would be ridiculous, instead its saying about a child resulting from rape AND OR fornication. Not that rape is fornication. Its giving rules about what to do concerning a child, as a result from rape OR fornication, when concerning a minor girl.

So, again, it is not actually saying that rape IS fornication. In case you were wondering, i just wanted to clear that up for ya.

There are quite a few "rules" in this book, that are completely "man-made" and have no scriptural basis whatsoever.

Many things are very hypocrytical, too. Like they can sell a Kingdom Hall to a church, BUT you cannot do anything concerning "furthuring" a church/false religion.

You cannot have a job, or dealings, with non-neutral government companies, BUT they can have stocks in companies that manufacture weapons.

You cannot have jobs, or dealing, with companies that, MOSTLY, benefit the government or false religion, BUT they can be members of the NGO for the 8th wild beast, the United nations.

You must CONFESS and be repentant, by divulging your sins to the Elders, BUT if you are an Elder and a few years goes by and you sinned, but didnt confess or say anything, then its OK, ONLY if you are an Elder.

Do not rush to deal judicially with one who has attempted suicide. In most cases, a judicial hearing is not required.

So, in which case would there be a JC for someone who tried to commit suicide?

    Promonomo.

Thanks so much for this. I actually downloaded it and had a good laugh with the missus about some of the rules, particularly how an elder or ms could possibly lose their privileges if they or a family member chooses to engage in higher education. UNBELIEVABLE!!

The SICK thing about all of this, is that most of these rules, and arbitrary "laws", are enforced and held up, by the Elders. Yet, these men, have NO qualifications, or even any idea, of how to deal with fellow human beings, when concerning the many "issues" that are mentioned in this rulebook.

The Elders, have no qualification on how to deal with, mentally ill people, suicidal people, teenagers hormones, natural human development, child abuse, domestic abuse, and many, many other day to day, and life's challenges. Yet, the MEN, are to enforce this bullshit, and can have the power to, make or break your standing in the congregation, your, supposed spirituality, your relationship with your family, your complete social structure, and even your career. The "power" these men have, over other humans, but without ANY qualifications, is APPALLING.

How long is some years? How short is a few years? These terms affect doing serious wrongs and the need to form a judicial committee, either for an appointed brother or a non-appointed one. The manual states:

If a brother committed a serious wrong that could be a cause for disfellowshipping but is moved to confess it voluntarily some years later, showing sincere repentance, good counsel might suffice. However, it would be proper to ascertain the reason why the wrong was not reported earlier. Still, help him to see the need to avoid the circumstances that might lead him into a repetition of the wrong and assist him to grow in appreciation of God’s Word and the provision of the elders to help repentant wrongdoers. Regarding one who was an appointed elder, a ministerial servant, or a pioneer at the time of committing a serious wrong, if it was within the past few years, the matter would likely be handled by a judicial committee. In any case, he would be disqualified for special privileges.

In fact, the Shepherd the Flock book also states:

if the immorality or other serious wrongdoing occurred more than a few years ago and the individual is genuinely repentant and recognizes that he should have come forward immediately when he sinned, good counsel by elders may be sufficient. (emphasis mine)

So do whatever you want and just wait it out...then no need for that messy judicial committee...
