I don't think anyone on this board is dense enough to "not get" this website. On the flip side, you WOULD have to be very dense to think that despite it being tongue-in-cheek, these are not true thoughts of the websites originator and many of the viewers who think it is funny.
Xena, Sheila, Jelly, etc - this website is NOT merely suggesting that people who don't like it here should leave. It is suggesting that anyone who does not agree with the people who have taken power should leave. Talk about sheep following a shepherd! This country is based on freedom and dissention from big government. If you are tired of hearing this dissention, then you should probably leave this country as it was founded by you're so called "whiners."
I have a pretty good job....but it is far from perfect. If I cried and moaned about how bad it was day and night....and talked about how much I would LOVE to have another job somewhere else...would anyone be suprised if I was eventually escorted to the door and told to feel free to find another place to work??
I'm sorry but that is a very FLAWED analogy. If you worked at a place that was founded on the idea that the company was FOR THE EMPLOYEES and that they should be free to express themselves about the company and it's policies without retribution, then YES! I would be surprised if they escorted you to the door. I would think that they are betraying the principles that the company was founded on.
I mean, how long does one have to complain about a situation that is out of their control?
I would say, until the people in control do something about it.
The site owner was just, in a very sarcastic way, giving an oppurtunity, for those sick of hearing the liberals and their endless complaints, to contribute to the purchase of air fare to give these folks a taste of life where their complaints might not be allowed, where their "right" to complain, might even be considered a crime.
This argument seems self-defeating. You are saying that we live in a country that promotes freedom of speech, but you shouldn't use that freedom too much? You should just be happy you have it, but not use it? And if you do use it, you should go somewhere that you can't use it, just so you can appreciate it? I don't need to go anywhere to appreciate it. I show my appreciation by using it whenever I see fit.
I do not know why our country went to war with Iraq, I can only speculate. I DO know that it certainly was NOT a humanitarian effort to save the poor people of Iraq from an evil dictator. If I am wrong, then the Iraqis are some real lucky folks since all the rest of the oppressed people in the world and in recent world history didn't get much help.
I do feel that this current administration tried to hoodwink the public into supporting this war which has caused many deaths. THAT, I DO NOT SUPPORT. And everyday they continue with their operation and more US Troops die, it becomes more infuriating to me.
