Have you seen how many people are infected in New York? You want that guy [Cuomo] to be president?

    My Name ...

I really don't see any connection. That is like saying the US now has more reported cases of CONVID-19 than any other country in the world. So then why would you want to have that guy (the Orange Guy) as President?

I don't see the correlation between the two.

The problem with "that guy" in NY is that they ignored the virus when it was first on the scene. Cuomo and others encouraged celebrating the Chinese New Year as well as other festivities. They didn't want to shut down the commercialism. After all -- "it's the economy, Stupid" is Rule #1 in politics now. Or, should I say, UNTIL NOW.

Yes, the same thing appears to be happening now in New Orleans after Mardi Gras. With people coming in from other states and from all over the world, they wanted to keep it going. As you mention, the almighty dollar is/was driving the bus.

Now some are saying that New Orleans will be the next epicenter of the virus. Louisiana appears to be getting screwed.

Plus, our Governor here in Florida (Repub. Ron DeSantis, who does at least generally sound intelligent) allowed the beaches in the State to remain open with 10's of thousands of hormone-driven spring breakers on the beaches and hotels from all over the country (and many from other countries). It's pretty obvious, cramming 8 or 10 spring breakers into a hotel room designed for a maximum or 4 is not conducive to the "6 foot rule." And obviously, the hormone thing should be obvious to most with who's doing what to who.

Obviously, the hotel and hospitality industry were pushing to keep things open.

So getting back to your thread, Cuomo ignored things and even encouraged people to party on. He’s a dope so

please don’t think he’s all that so that you don’t become a dope too.🥱

As far as that "6-foot rule" -- how can those "hormone driven teens" live with that rule when they're only working with 6 INCHES?

Cuomo said that all authoritarian effort is worth it, even if it saves one life. If we are successful in preventing just one death, no amount of economic hardship is too much. Don’t even discuss the net effects.

He also cheered on the latest NY abortion bill that allows termination of a pregnancy until birth.

Again, there is a sense of justification in what he is doing. But I don’t buy his motivation. If you think Cuomo actually cares about anyone, you are a fool. He is a leftist. That means he a bubbling stew of incompatible ideologies and logical contradictions - an opportunist with an addiction to power.

My worry is that all of the temporary controls will be “temporary”.

So Cuomo was spending money on climate change baloney (which probably means slush fund) instead of healthcare and they are not short of ventilators, they are hoarding them (other states may need them too).

Fundamentally, NYC is in a mess because they were encouraging people to do all the wrong things at the beginning of the outbreak - use public transit, go to parades, hug chinese people (literally!)

Cuomo only seems like a great alternative to Biden because Biden is so terrible, but he's awful too and you're scared that the prophecy will be fulfilled: that the great hag will re-emerge at the convention and seize the nomination.

I still can't believe that Fox "News" is playing Cuomo about 2 hours a day. I must admit that Cuomo can talk and at least sounds like he knows what he's talking about (I guess) but I am just surprised by the amount of time he is on Fox. I was flicking through the channels and I didn't see him at the moment on CNN but there he was live on Fox.

He's either extremely intelligent or spends the rest of his day prepping for the next day's news conference. As with most upper level politicians and business people, they have speech writers and assistants preparing their stuff. But someone is feeding him a ton of specifications, facts and stuff and he seems to digest and regurgitate it well.

    He has intelligent speech writers.

He's on right now....dancing around why exactly he claimed he needed 30,000 ventilators RIGHT NOW when they weren't even using the ones they had.

He claims it was "anticipatory" need which may or not be true at some point (good going speech writers!)

Before all of this, I was neutral where he was concerned. After all that has come out about him and to a much larger degree watching him with my own eyes at his briefings.....I wouldn't put him in charge of feeding the ducks at the pond.
