Do You Think It’s Time For Businesses To Reopen Even Though Coronavirus Is Not Obliterated?

I think that many businesses can open and be more observant. Wear a face mask while cutting hair. Restaurants need to be more careful maybe half capacity.

It may never be totally gone. To shut down and stay shut down will kill far more than any good it would do.

Business can reopen but with restrictions that will increase their costs. Can joe public afford the extra costs?

    YES! YES! YES!

People need to get back to work and salvage what economy, business and commerce is left. If you are elderly, stay home. If you are sick, stay home. If you have a preexisting condition that that would make you more susceptible to COVID-19, stay home.

''If you are elderly, stay home. If you are sick, stay home. If you have a preexisting condition that that would make you more susceptible to COVID-19, stay home.''

Would it have been better if that had been the worldwide message and policy all along from day 1?

    THOMAS COVENANT:

It’s not practical or possible for everybody to stay home for extended periods of time. I don’t know if it would have mattered. The poster, Zing, who recently passed away from covid, took every precaution and did more than I do. (A poster named ZILGEE posted a link with a post by Zing in the SNARE&RACKET thread).

I’m not saying people shouldn’t be careful but I long suspected the virus is more contagious than they say and may be in the environment.

LHGal - I think the virologist interviewed on the Joe Rogan video someone linked under one of the Covid 19 topics (maybe Simon's COVID update thread) kind of indicated what you're referring to - we just breathe it. I may have interpreted him incorrectly. That same specialist has an update out and he wasn't that positive re/the 2nd wave or opening the country back up but who knows.

I don't trust a vaccine any time soon but they certainly need effective treatment that the medical professionals can prescribe on an out-patient basis short of individuals being hospitalized. Politicians (governors) are playing games with lives for the election. Lawsuits are flying - how many needless deaths will there be.

I will find Snare's topic and read about Zing - appreciate.

Here in Jamestown we received a phone calls yesterday letting us know the framers market will be open for business starting in June. We have been part of this for years until this year. We have decided not to do the market this year. Social distancing will be impossible and I just can't see that big of a attendance since most of the folks are elderly. Plus I have preexisting conditions and both my wife and I are in our mid 60's. It just to much of a risk for us. Sad for us but we feel this is what we need to do. Looking forward to next season.
