How long ago were you reproved?

Was it in the same Hall your publisher record cards are still in?

    Is that your moms Hall?

These are not questions I expect an answer to but they will be factors in what happens in your situation.

Since it has only been a 5 month fade I do not think that is long enough to get you off their radar. Five years maybe or even half of that.

You have gotten good advice about what to do above so I will just add that I am sorry you feel so undone by this. I am sorry that at what should be a happy time in your relationship, you have this to deal with. You have my sympathy.

Or you could reassure your family that you love them very much (telling them you are your own person now) ignore everything which might come to you from the JW cult and take great pride in your decision to have nothing further to do with them.

Of course we all understand the situation is very difficult at the moment for you. What is at stake is your happiness and the freedom to have the choice in doing what you want to do. This is not selfish, this freedom is our birthright which others in the name of God or family want to steal away from us.

I am one of those who sent a letter through my attorney threatening legal action if they announced my name from the platform. As a matter of conscience, I wanted no further connection with the organizaton. I had been out for over four years by then though. Also, they had no information about my personal life or beliefs other than the fact that I was unwilling to shun my son and wasn't going to be a hypocrite and pretend I was. If they wanted to believe I was depressed or stumbled, I didn't argue. I ignored all forms of contact from all JWs except two doorstep "shepherding calls" in two years. I was pleasent, but didn't let them in and gave them nothing actionable. You don't owe them anything. Using your own mom against you is dispicable.

I still have occaisional contact with rank and file members I may see in town. They don't shun me, so I'm guessing my letter worked. I seem to be on the "do not call" list though, because they do skip my house when they are working my street.

Don't give them any information to use against you. As others have said, they may not even have their "two witnesses".

    Wishing you all the best,

So the "sheep" has moved 100 miles and it's been 5 months without any contact with these "shepherds"? Now they're playing the master based on your living situation?

As a fader, it is a challenge to get on with life and live the way we want.

I bet your mom outed you. If it were me, I'd go to their meeting, sit in the front, and during the meeting noisily get up and hand my DA letters to two of the elders closest to where you sit. I'd tell them out loud, "these are my disassociation letters, so please stop stalking me!" and walk out never to look back.

    No lawyer fees.

    No ambiguity.

    No mess.

Just tell them that you're indeed with him and that you are married. Case closed.

Raven, I assume that you do not want to be disfellowshiped otherwise, you wouldn't have tried to fade out. And I also assume that you are not intending to go back. Hence, I would seriously consider the idea of simply lying to them. Its much easier than you may think. And considering that these man are presently in hot pursuit of you for the sole purpose of taking your family away from you, I believe it is 100% justified.

If you tell them that you are married, they may go back to your mom and ask her. If she tells the truth, you can tell them that you hadn't told her since you felt bad about not inviting her and the fact you got married on a spur of the moment.

Than, anyone who meets you in the street will think that you are with your husband even if you left your current boyfriend and find another! And if they talk about you not living with him any more? Well, you're separated. And if they do realize you`re not with the same man? Well, the bastard cheated on you and you remarried!!

Much much more easier than the "letter from my lawyer" route. Once again, people who want to take you away from your own family deserve no respect at all.

They will demand to see the certificate as proof, it wont satisfy them.

Witness My Fury: Easy... all you have to do is lie again! Tell them you'll ask you're husband to send it. Take the email and take for ever to send it. If they still push.... simply photoshop one.
