    Good News From God!

    LESSON 10

How Can You Recognize True Worship?

    00:00
    08:33

    1. Is there only one true religion?

    Jesus teaching

“Be on the watch for the false prophets.”—MATTHEW 7:15.

Jesus taught his followers only one religion, the true religion. It is like a road leading to everlasting life. Jesus said: “Few are finding” that road. (Matthew 7:14) God accepts only worship based on his Word of truth. All true worshippers are united in one faith.—Read John 4:23, 24; 14:6; Ephesians 4:4, 5.

    2. What did Jesus say about false Christians?

A religious leader speaking in church. Later he is blessing soldiers at war.

“They publicly declare that they know God, but they disown him by their works.”—TITUS 1:16.

Jesus warned that false prophets would corrupt Christianity. Outwardly, they seem like true worshippers. Their churches claim to be Christian. But you can recognize such people for what they really are. How? Only true worship produces genuine Christians with recognizable qualities and ways.—ReadMatthew 7:13-23.

    3. How can you recognize true worshippers?

    Consider these five identifying marks:

    • True worshippers respect the Bible as God’s Word. They strive to live by its principles. So true religion differs from religion that is based on men’s ideas. (Matthew 15:7-9) True worshippers do not preach one thing and practice another.—Read John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

    • A Christian gives a Bible discourse. He later preaches about God’s Kingdom, assists with disaster relief, helps the elderly.

Jesus’ true followers honor God’s name, Jehovah. Jesus honored God’s name by making it known. He helped people to know God and taught them to pray that God’s name be sanctified. (Matthew 6:9) Where you live, which religion makes God’s name known?—Read John 17:26;Romans 10:13, 14.

    • True Christians preach about God’s Kingdom. God sent Jesus to preach the good news of the Kingdom. God’s Kingdom is the only hope for mankind. Jesus continued speaking about it until his dying day. (Luke 4:43; 8:1;23:42, 43) He said that his followers would preach about it. If someone approaches you to speak about God’s Kingdom, to which religion does he likely belong?—Read Matthew 24:14.

    • Jesus’ followers are no part of this wicked world. You can recognize them by the way they take no part in politics or social conflicts. (John 17:16; 18:36) Also, they do not imitate the world’s harmful practices and attitudes.—Read James 4:4.

    • True Christians have outstanding love for one another. From God’s Word, they learn to respect all ethnic groups. Although false religions have often strongly supported the wars of the nations, true worshippers refuse to do so. (Micah 4:1-3) Rather, true Christians unselfishly use their time and resources to help and encourage others.—Read John 13:34, 35; 1 John 4:20.

    4. Can you identify the true religion?

Which religion bases all its teachings on God’s Word, honors God’s name, and proclaims God’s Kingdom as mankind’s only hope? Which group practices love and shuns war? What do you think?—Read1 John 3:10-12.

So you've moved from defending them to promoting them.

I ask again, what is your agenda?

The cult has changed. In my day we weren't allowed to call people "fuckwits" if they pointed out the stupidity of our faith.

    Viv:

Cofty called it. He's a barely pubescent foul mouthed JW:

Either the kid is too young to grasp the scope of his fumbles or seriously stupid. I leave those decisions to this discerning forum ...

Hi, Richard! Well. I just had to join the conversation when I saw you posting this *gem* of the Truth TM. : ))

    2. What did Jesus say about false Christians?

“They publicly declare that they know God, but they disown him by their works.”—TITUS 1:16.

Of course, Jehovah's people TM declare that they are the chosen ones.

How do we recognize these Christian followers of Jehovah?

Is it the elders who weave on the platform, too drunk to keep their equilibrium? Or the Special Pioneer, who 'fudges' her/his time sheet? Maybe, it is the Judicial Committee member who can't sleep at night, because he punished a child rape victim, and let his/her rapist go free, after which the victim committed suicide.

Or perhaps it is the father who turns away his 'prodigal son', because son hasn't gone through the proscribed punishments (re-instatement procedures) that the local BOE has set forth.

Yes, true *Christians* show their colours. By their deeds you will know them BY THEIR DEEDS.

Hows does the WTS and the JWS honor and respect god when its indulges itself with commercialized false prophecies in its operation as relgoius publishing house ?

This organization has been continually disobedient toward god Jehovah since its inception as an organization..

On and there other relgoius faiths that don't participate in wars, some Christian and others.

As far as showing love and compassion toward the general public as directed by Jesus, the JWs fells far short.

This organization and the people within it does nothing in the community of where they exist.

In reading your posts Richard its obvious that your an immature adolescent whose not knowledgeable about much, except your in the JWS and your knowledge is contain by the indoctrination that the WTS puts people through.

Do stick around and learn though, it will benefit your intellectual maturity.

Richie, get out the cult while you are still young.

Focus on getting an education and a career. The Watchtower is going down the pan. Look at how facile the new publications are. They are treating their followers like children and you are too close to even notice.

Your lack of critical thinking ability is obvious from this thread. You are young you can sort that.

Good luck and we are here to help you. JWfacts.com is a great palce to start.

I haven't read the whole thread, as I'm sure there is a lot of master baiting in the 18 pages, but hmmm ... the name Richie is just too familiar, and this thread bears the mark of a, perhaps, experienced troll. Hey, Richie, ca va? If it's you, we never clashed. Hope you are well, but don't you think it's a bit messed up? xx

Here is how you know it's a cult....

Tell the elders that you have lost faith that there is a god and they will give you spiritual encouragement, read scriptures and pray with you in an attempt to strengthen your faith.

Now go tell the exact same men that you don't believe the GB are being led or used by god and you will get a completely different reaction. Not a good one.

Believing the GB speaks for god is more important than believing in god itself in this cult.
