This was the most damning article IMO. Most likely because I know how greatly it affected my life. May 22, 1969 Awake! magazine. It does not specifically mention 1975, but every JW knew that was what it was about.

J W’s stick to the letter of the words used ,to claim “We never said 1975”. But that is just semantics

We all knew that ‘75 was the end of the 6000 years. The flock believed that it would bring the system’s end. The WT never said exactly that it would be so, just said everything but . ....

What were the flock supposed to think ? We were sure that if it did not occur by ‘75 , it would be soon after . Any cautionary words about not pinning hopes on the date were understood to mean it could be a few months after .... NOT 46 years and counting!

Exactly. You can find the quote in the WT that clarified that 1975 was 6,000 years since ADAM'S CREATION, thus that did not mean it was the end of the "6th Creative Day" because Eve had not yet been created. To paraphrase, it said that surely (™) it was ONLY MONTHS OR A FEW YEARS and NOT MANY MANY YEARS OR DECADES before the creation of Eve than the end of the 6th Day.

there will no more mess to be dealt with.

That is a different issue to be dealt with because the Messianic Kingdom and the Millennium only address the consequences of the sin of Adam and Eve.

There seems to be no prophecy in the Scriptures that the ransom covers the fetuses of pregnant rebellious females after the 1000 years —if there is even procreation whatsoever during or after the 1000 years before this test.

It was never said that armageddon would happen in the fall of 1975.

There was no flip flop over the cross or the worship of Jesus.

AS EArnest said, it was stated that 1975 was the end of 6000 years of human history. Would the end happen then? It might, it could. But they didn't say.

Desirous of change, if that article affected your life, then that falls solely on you.

R 350, and the sentence in the book finished: it therefore appropriate that the 1000 year would begin in that year.

That is a different issue to be dealt with because the Messianic Kingdom and the Millennium only address the consequences of the sin of Adam and Eve.

FM: Wt keeps harping on the sovereignty issue, and that is what they want the armageddon repeat mess cleared up during their (7X7) days senario, during the rest day too 6X1 =7 . That is why in wt literature the final test happens "at the end of the 1000 years" not after the count past 1000 is ended.

If you look at the jubilee year cycle, there is of course year 50, after the 49th year, 7x7 is finished.

The teaching is clearly after the 1000 years: Millenium is over, Jesus turns over the kingdom to God, God is all things to all, humans are perfect just like Adam, final test with perfect humans just like with perfect Adam and Eve. —That has always been the teaching.
