Nope, nope, nope.....wrong, wrong, wrong. Britain invented "The Colonies". Microsoft invented America....or Amerigo Vespucchi (sp?) invented America.....or maybe Leif Eriksson....or Columbus. Perhaps it was, after all, a committee effort.

I can't believe someone started this thread while I was away on holiday in Madeira! Ha!
But, we landed an couple of hours ago back in the UK, and I can say this quite confidently havimg been to a lot of places abroad including the USA. There aint nowhere thats greener!
And, we got pubs. The law is fairer too, money wont buy you a not guilty verdict.
The rest has been said!
By ther way Did, I also had an MGB roadster, 1972 in Teal blue.

Nic, who started this all, has PLAGIARIZED quotes from very commonly circulated stories in the travel industry. Brits -10 But the quotes from actual ads had me & my two kids in stitches, so +5. Net result: -5 UK
Otherwise, I think this quote from Sinclair Lewis sums things up nicely:

OK, OK, since the name of George W. Bush has been tossed into the debate there's nothing left for us Americans to do but CONCEDE! Any nation that would allow him to be their leader automatically must go to the bottom of any national pride list.
