This old Thread reminds me of how many great Posters are no longer with us, which is great if they have simply moved on, sad, if like the great Farkel, they have Passed On.
As to calling JW's a cult, yea, of course they are, but I never say it to them, I use "High Control/Mind Control group". Let's see 'em wriggle out of that label using semantics, or anything.
It is 100% true.
I never considered JWs as a "cult" until I read Steve Hassan's book "Combatting Cult Mind Control".
As I read here often: Let's review: It's a CULT!
No doubt about it anymore in my mind.

Is it weird that I considered cult a valid description of them Jehovah's Witnesses before I woke up? I just also considered every other religion to be a cult so my retarded JW mind thought that it was ok and problem resolved.
If I remember right it came down to following teaches of a man or organization and and believing them based solely on their word.
