for those of you say NO.

    Do you eat dead animals?

    So you approve killing animals,

    why?

hey, why dont you kill your dog and eat it?

    if you belevie in evolution,

Better yet go and kill some monkeys and eat them too, make sure is not a relative.

I could not kill any kind of animal, except insects in self defense.

    btw

I just had a hamburguer, talk about contradiction, i will reconsdirer my eating habits...

Against Capital Punishment here. System is too corrupt here in the states, and imperfect, and too many have died already. I favor the Life Imprisonment. I have no problem paying taxes to keep them incarcerated.

Another reason is, the FUN AND MENTALIST's(clarity, fundamentalist). Hey, they feel death by execution serves their purpose. Deny them from becoming a martyr.

To me, capital punishment let's the criminal off to easy. Let them sit and rot in a cell for the rest of their life for the appropriate offense they've commited. This also serves as a safety net, for those who were mistreated by the judicial system. But, that's my opinion.

I'm sorry ...but the death penalty kills the guilty, abortion kills the innocent.

I am for the death penalty, provided the accused was well proven that they committed the offense. Like others mentioned, there are some satanic, sick people out there, who can not change and are human waste. They should not get three square meals a day, gym, television...while their victims rot in the ground. It's not vengance....it's common sense. If roaches infest your house do you coddle them, build a hotel for them and feed them everyday?? These psychopaths are no more than cockroaches...infesting our daily lives with bloodshed and violence.

    Dutchie,

Great topic! I'm still somewhere in the middle on this one, because I would like to think that simply by "an eye for an eye" the murderers and rapists would be gotten rid of. However, with the way our justice system is, and with DNA testing now, there's too much evidence that many INNOCENT ones have been killed. I agree that our justice system should be over-hauled, but my personal viewpoint on whether or not WE have the right to determine if someone else should live or die is kind of muddled. Why is it ok to kill others at war, and then not ok to kill someone for murder? Isn't murder the same, unless it's in self-defense? Hmmm.....it's definitely gotten my mind spinning.

I'm not going to join in the "America is still in the dark ages with Russia and China" hullaballoo, because such an argument is patent nonesense, most murderers in the US don't die, although the odds seem stacked against the poor and the non-whites.

I've had to think deep and long as to how I feel about CP. If one of my family were murdered, then, yes, I would be thirsting for vengeance, so how can I equate this with my distaste for execution?

I think that where I am at, is that I don't think that the State -here I mean the government, not a state, - should, at any time, get involved in the legalised killing of it's own citizens. I'm not being a bleeding heart, it's just that it seems to me that if the State can inflict violence, then it cannot teach it's citizens not to be violent.

Just to illustrate, until comparatively recently it was fairly common for the State to inflict corporal punishment for certain crimes. Bare buttock birching only completely died out in the UK in 1976. Yet, it could be argued that birching is a lesser punishment than execution, but if this is so, how come public revulsion to this lesser punishment has now been seen as sufficient reason to outlaw it? If corporal punishment is seen as violence inflicted by the State, how much more so is execution to be regarded as violence by the state?

John Wayne Gacy, should he still be alive and living in prison? He would have to be kept isolated (translation private room and board)
It is no surprise that John Wayne Gacy, Jr. was admired and liked by most who had known him. He was a sharp businessman who had spent his time, when not building up his contracting company, hosting elaborate street parties for friends and neighbors, dressing as a clown and entertaining children at local hospitals and immersing himself in organizations such as the Jaycees, working to make his community a better place to live. People who knew Gacy thought of him as a generous, friendly and hard-working man, devoted to his family and community. However, there was another side to Gacy that few had ever witnessed... It was May 22, 1978, and Jeffrey Ringall had recently returned from a winter vacation in Florida to his home in Chicago. He decided to reacquaint himself with the city by visiting New Town, a popular area of Chicago where many popular bars and discos could be found. While walking through the area, his path was blocked by a black Oldsmobile. The heavy-set driver leaned out from the window and complimented Ringall on his unseasonable tan. He continued to make small talk and then asked if Ringall wanted to share a joint with him while they rode around town.
Ringall was delighted to escape the cold and share a marijuana cigarette with the stranger. He hopped in the car and began to smoke with his friendly new acquaintance. Before they were half way through with the joint, the man grabbed Ringall and quickly shoved a rag over his face doused with chloroform. Ringall lost consciousness and only briefly reawakened a couple of times during the car ride. During his wakeful periods Ringall watched in a daze as street signs passed, trying to make sense of what was happening to him. Yet before he was able to understand where he was and what was happening, the stranger again covered his face with the chloroform-soaked rag and he passed out.
Once when he was awake, Ringall remembered being in a house and seeing the heavy-set man naked before him. Ringall also remembered seeing on the floor a number of varying sized dildos that the stranger pointed out to him and remarked on how he was going to use them on his unwilling prisoner. That evening Ringall was viciously raped, tortured and drugged by the sadistic stranger.
Later the next morning, Ringall awoke from one of his blackouts fully clothed and under a statue in Chicagos Lincoln Park. He was surprised to be alive after the trauma that was inflicted on his body. He made his way to his girlfriend's and later to the hospital where he stayed for six days. During his hospital stay, Ringall reported the incident to the police who were sceptical about finding his rapist, given the little information that Ringall could provide. Along with skin lacerations, burns and permanent liver damage caused from the chloroform, Ringall suffered severe emotional trauma.
Yet, he was fortunate to be alive.

Ringall was one of the few victims of John Wayne Gacy, Jr. to have survived. During a three-year-period, Gacy went on to viciously torture, rape and murder more than thirty other young men, who would later be discovered under the floorboards of his home and in the local river.

?????Ted Bundy: The handsome, educated psychopath who murdered pretty girls
    ?????
?????The quiet nice man that liked to eat people

Bombed a daycare center in a federal building killing the children inside

Note: these are the ones put to death here in the US.And there are a few more that prettymuch resemble these as far as appearences go. They are middle-class to upper middle-class average white boys.

Who wants to keep these monsters alive and feed them for 30, 40, or even 50 years?
