OTWO, that is correct. They claim that they are blessed with material prosperity by Big J. They also teach that material riches are not always a sigh of Jeehoober blessing anyone, especially a religion. Typical hypocrisy.

As a side point, for those who wondered what ever became of Andre, apparently he has been serving at a branch office. He is mentioned in paragraph 14 and, of course, he is still a very faithful brother.

The state of New York is to JW's like the state of Utah is to Mormons. In fact, aren't JW's looking more and more like the Mormons each year? But then, most cults look the same.

    just saying!

I feel this image is all about attempting to look legitimate as more and more of their ugliness/psychosis is exposed ala JW.org, JW tv and the ongoing and increasing legal cases surrounding the pedophile/child abuse problem.

If that building were a public hospital needing labour I would help out

Miracles happen in hospitals not in cult headquarters..

You will agree that it is amazing that Jehovah has invited imperfect humans to have the honor of serving as his fellow workers.

Wow.... now he won't have to use the perfect angels to build it!

Simply amazing! How can you pass an opportunity like that up?

"...taking part in a physical building program, as did Noah and Moses."

So these Warwick buildings can float or be disassembled and relocated?

Not only does this multi-year project show that the GB doesn't really believe the end is "soon," it also means that they don't think the great tribulation and attack by gog of magog are real. The GB conveniently located in a remote compound? They'd be easy targets for attack. One missile and "BOOM", no more FDS. If they really believed what they were teaching, the GB were much safer in NYC. They could easily disappear through their tunnel network and disappear into a city of millions of people.

If fancy new headquarters are so important to "the true Christian congregation," why didn't Jesus build a headquarters, assembly halls, and kingdumb hauls. Jesus was a carpenter! Yet, he never needed a building or get into buying and selling property. Hmmm, that probably would have been a suggestion of Judas... get that cash flowing!

I would suggest just the opposite, that the reason they moved out of NYC is that the Society expects the world to get worse. Like the Christians between 66 and 70 CE, they are fleeing to the hills before things get worse (another 9/11). It's not a direct strike from the UN that they're fearing, but rather getting caught up in the death throes of this "old system". Obviously they believe that God will protect them from being wiped out by a direct attack; they've always said this much.

Is it significant that the high point of the building has ceased being a crenelated watchtower and has become a machine gun emplacement?
