2013 was a record breaking year for firearm purchases. 2014 is supposed to be a record breaker for ammunition.

Depends on the purpose....I live in a hunting state and many own guns for that...a handgun for protection is a different issue.

I use to owe guns until I had children. Though my family circumstances are not favorable for having guns, I do not disagree with one owning a gun if that is legal and they can secure them properly.

I used to, I may yet again. FYI, shotguns are better for self defense, too many things can go wrong with handguns if you're not an expert.

Yes, many. Always have. Always will. For hunting and peotection of my family. I also have a concealed carry permit, and I even open carry every once in a while just for the hell of it.
