Just your opinion Cofty - Tornapart

If you see DNA and think "designer", rather than "let's investigate how replicating molecules evolved", then you have killed scientific enquiry.

If someone says, "God exists!" they have asserted a theological/philosophical belief?

Correspondingly if another person says, "God does NOT exists!" they have also asserted a theological/philosophical belief?

Atheism is a belief. To say it is not is an attempt at obfuscation by turning the discussion into word games.

It doesn't have to be one or the other, Cofty.

One can say... 'designer'... AND... 'lets investigate how replicating molecules evolved so that we can understand more about how He did his designing"

There is joy in that, and scientific enqiry.

If we can discover how replicating molecules evolved through natural processes what possible need is there to bring god into it?

    You should google "methodological naturalism".

Because he is already there for some people, including some scientists?

My point is that seeing a designer/creator... does not kill scientific enquiry. In some cases, and for some people, this can FUEL it.

The longest randomly-generated sequence of Shakespearian characters, to date, is the one found by The Monkey Shakespeare Simulator website. After a mere 2,737,850 million billion billion billion (simulated) monkey-years the pinnacle of its literary output was 24 characters from Henry IV, Part 2: RUMOUR. Open your ears; (the 24th character is a space).

Shadow - The monkey experiment is nonsense as it bears no similarity to reality.

Evolution is not about random chance. Natural selection is a chance accumulator.

A computer programme was written that simulates natural selection and it created text from Shakespeare in a very few generations.

Perhaps if you read a book about evolution you would quickly realise why arguments from design are fallacious.

The Blind Watchmaker would be perfect for you.

By the way which books on evolution, written by evolutionalry biologists have you already studied?

Intelligent people who come across as arrogant and condescending are poor teachers. That's ok if your goal is just to hear your own voice.
