Yeah, it's true. A LOT of contemporary pop is 'christian music' - totally changes the lyrics when you realize the band is talking about jesus instead of a women.

P.O.D.'s "Alive" is a classic example. Unless you know they are a contemporary christian band, you'd NEVER guess the actual meaning of the lyrics.

    EX:

    Everyday is a new day
I'm thankful for every breath I take
I won't take it for granted
So I learn from my mistakes
It's beyond my control sometimes it's best to let go,
    whatever happens in this lifetime
So I trust in love ( So I trust in love )
You have given me peace of mind

    I, I feel so alive
    For the very first time
    I can't deny you
    I feel so alive
    I, I feel so alive
    For the very first time
And I think I can fly

Creed identifies themselves as a christian band, too...I dunno bout them, though.

Never really got into Amy Grant.

Oh, BTW, figured out the song similarity.

1st 0:10 of 'Scream of the Butterfly' ~ 1st 0:10 of Breeders 'Collage'

cool do you like The Halofriendies? The thing about Contempo-Christian Music is that it is a poor imitation of the culture. As Christians we should lead the cultue not do a bad imitation of it.

No just give me your R.C. Sproul tapes and others like him.

I like a bit of everything except for country, gospel, and most rap. Here are some of the people/bands in my collection:

    +Elton John
    +Finger Eleven
    +Assorted 80s pop collections
    +Godsmack (They RULE!)
    +Beethoven
    +Yanni
+Disturbed (I might have anger issues.)
    +Lorena McKennitt
    +Soundtrack from the game "Xenogears"
+Drowning Pool (Purchased mostly for the song "Bodies.")

And as soon as I have money, though, I'm getting three things: the latest No Doubt CD, the soundtrack from "The Matrix," and something by the Insane Clown Posse.

    *Rochelle.

    !!

You have SOME issues, that's for sure

Try some traditional Irish, too. Mary Black is very good - there are a LOT of others...
