    I see three camps:

    1. Atheist believe in nothing. - This is all there is.

    2. Jews want us to believe that this is all there is so take all you can in the physical life.

    3. Greeks want us to believe that this is all about the spirit so lets party.

I'm too old and have seen too much to believe in nothing.I'm too old and non concerned about the physical aspects and glory that my body has to offer me. It's just a carcass that contains my spirit, pretty much.

We never get to peak behind the curtain until the day we die. Then we find out who is right. I guess that's the mystery; for me anyway.

    God bless.

''What Did Jesus Ask US To Preach About?''

Nobody going by the name of Jesus has ever asked me to preach about anything.

If I was to guess though, I would say it was whatever 'Perry' says it was.

Most Jews think Jesus (actually Jehoshua) was a nice young man, period. His statements, if believed to be actual words he spoke, show his lack of understanding on Judaism. The words put into the mouths of Jews in the Gospels show great anti-semitism (His blood be upon us). He is said to have wanted flagellation, he got it. The history of christianity for the past 2000 years shows what happens when people follow a person who encouraged mortification.

It seems the "good news about the Christ" and the "good news about the Kingdom" are two distinct but related and inseparable components of the "good news of God" (Acts 8:12).

    One is about a person.

The other is about a government (that is not of this world or its ways).

As paraphrased from Greg Gilbert's 2010 book " What is the Gospel " the Kingdom can be defined as: "God's [victorious, eternal and] redemptive rule, reign and authority over those redeemed by Jesus".

Christians trying to convert Jews is old business. Some actually fall for it based on misinformation and twisting OT texts. The illustration provided by Perry about the 1st Coming and the 2nd Coming shows the essential problem with his messiah- he didn't get the job done the first time around which the Jewish Messiah is suppose to do.

jesus wasnt a nice man. He was a racist bigot. He also was a champion for the Roman rich who wanted obedient jews not rebels and taxation. Notice he never condemns slavery, but infact legitimizes it. jesus was the answer to the jewish religion and the false messiahs who were encouraging rebellion, thinking that God was somehow going to help their cause. Unfortunatly the jewish religoin was very much for racial supremacy and violence, something that is abundantly clear from in the OT. Thi sis a lot like islam in some arab countries today, where they believe somehow they have a right to their way of beliefs and laws, which contradict reality that the world is not islamic.

It is the same message... the same good news; just given to Israel first.

Good news is not about judgment.

    Good news is about LIFE.

And there is no judgment for those who are in Christ. Nor is there death for those who are in Christ.

One may live, them and their household (children, loved ones).

    Peace,

    tammy

WHy would God give so much to the Israelites simply because of Abraham ? Does it make sense for a father to be so biased to one child and forget th eothers ? Or is this just bullshit dreams of a two bit nation ?

I mean the claim that Israel is the promised land is also pathetic. its not, even today its a dry terrible place, hardly better than europe for example which is much greener, and has more water. This lack of geographic knowledge shows the authors didnt really know what a prpmised land would look like.

    mP:

Really ? So why did the apostles judge that gentiles couldnt receive the message ?

Why did Jesus say he came too only preach to the jews ? Is that not judging an audience based on race ? Isnt that sad ?
