What Did Jesus Ask US To Preach About?

    JW's repeat MT. 24:14 like a mantra.

But who was he speaking to, us Gentiles in the Church age? No, he was speaking to the Jews, God's covenant people. Mt. 24:14 applies to literal Jews during the Great Tribulation, AFTER the church age has ended.

Keep in mind that the OT prophets did not see the Church age. The 69th of the 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy culminated with the appearance and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God still owes the Jews one week, the 70th week, the Great Tribulation week. That's when the "Kingdom" message will really matter.

So, what was the message that us Gentile believers were supposed to be preaching? Did Jesus have a special message for us to deliver? He certainly did. Jesus died at the behest of the Jewish religious leaders he was sent to save. But, he didn't stay dead!

The resurrected Jesus Christ then turned his attention to the fledgling church and gave this command for us in Acts 10:

So Peter opened his mouth and said: ..... He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him....They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, 40 but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, 41 not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.

    Q. Why aren't Jehovah's Witnesses declaring the good news that Jesus himself will judge the living and the dead?

The apostles were all about declaring christ as the Messiah, this was the Good News and one can verify it by just reading acts, romans, etc. The Kingdom they new was not a kingdom with out its King. Like Franz brought out in his book CoC, the good news of the kingdom was only mentioned 8 times in the bible but the good news about christ is mentioned over 100. We should be fallowing the example of the apostles.

I agree Crazy Guy, but what do you think of my general division of the two messages?

    1. Kingdom message, generally for the literal Jews

    2. Saved from judgment message, generally for everyone else

'Jesus died at the behest of the Jewish leaders he was sent to save' Wrong, this is the anti-semetic BS you have heard from your fellow christian leaders. What is this- Scofield or Dwight Pentecost indoctination.

To a Jew the future peaceful world is simple- A Jew has his covenant and the world is covered by the Noahician laws and God brings all of his children home in Gan Eden.

Not sure that would be accurate the second part anyway, for the gentiles didnt know a thing about Christ and probably not much about the jewish religion and the laws. I dont remember Paul talking to much about saved from Judgement but more that he died and was resserercted showing that the gift of salvation was real and that we can to be raised on the last day.

    Perry:

Mt 24:14 is an insertion. All of j other directions are too preach to only the lost sheep of israel. Peter & James believed the later, this is clearly shown in the writings of Paul and Acts where the disciples would only talk , eat and preach to fellow jews. If jesus wanted them to preach to non jews, they never got the message.

Paul just made up the preach to gentiles idea on his own.

I was not aware that the Romans took orders from any Jew, especially wannabe competitors such as religious leaders. I always thought Rome was in charge.

SO why didnt Jehovah just forgive, why did he have to send his son on a suicide mission ? Is this any different from other martyrs we see today on tv ?

LOL, What Did Jesus Ask US To Preach About? Nothing... or if he wanted us to he should have said so in English ... because some of us can't read Koine Greek. Honestly, all we have is a fictional story of someone called Jesus who said he was going to return... and didn't. How anyone can believe that words said in a fictional story from 2,000 years ago should have any bearing on the way we live our lives is beyond me!

That seems exactly why the messsge from the resurrected JC was simplified to A. There is a judgment after you die and B. Jesus is the one administering that judgment and of course C. You can have peace with God

It also explains a previous statement from Jesus: He that endures to the end will be saved. He was speaking to the end-time Jews. Christians are saved by grace through faith....not endurance.
