The FDS of the last 100 years thought the big 'A' was coming any day and yet felt safe there.....

They are just stirring up the rumour mill of "what do they know?" And "is it a sign that they think its imminent?" ..... All that b.s.

its a bunch of old ex window cleaners building a housing complex in the countryside with donated money ..... Suprising?

    Nah....

it could easily be one of any of the many cults and even the JW's would call it for what it was.... Fraud and corruption.

Bags... None of the plans mention a factory or printing press. It talks about offices and accomodation.

PICK think big changes are coming in their ministry and printing work. They have liquid assets from the property so they don't need the crappy income of donations from literature anymore, they have investment infrastructure and I think they will be focusing on that.

again, it will be a very different religion to the one we grew up in within 10 years, a common evolution in this cult.

snare, printing has been out of brooklyn for almost a decade now, HQ is all office type stuff and support staff. So there is no need for printing in warwick

" ..one of the first warning signs that an apocalyptic group is going off the rails is withdrawal to a rural setting/compound."

Yes, Warren Jeffs moved the FLDS to the middle of nowhere in Texas. Now look at what they became.

I've always been slow on the uptake. Suddenly the clear picture arrived - They aren't getting ready for the big A! They are getting ready to get underground in their big panic rooms when all the millions of disgruntled ex-JW come to finish them off!

Sounds like Beth Sarim on Steroids.

"all the millions of disgruntled ex-JW come to finish them off"

I have seen witnesses who really have a fear of their own

(apostate & worldly) family turning on them in the great tribulation!

Seen it in my own family.

Anybody have a watchtower on that?

Living in Brooklyn (even in Bethel) is a daily reminder of how insignificant they are - nobody gives a shit. The drama of life and seasons continues as sure as your next breath. They are stupid little fish in a very big pool, and it annoys them.

It will be interesting to see how their doctrines move along the wack-o-meter as they get settled in a rural compound, kings of their own hill.

It's amusing how the GB will rationalize their decisions when they are directly opposed to what they profess and what they expect of the rank and file witnesses.

Just like they did with the Malawi scandal, and the registering as an N.G.O. for the U.N.

    Nothing new, unfortunately...

Going back more than twenty years ago they have said , it ( new buildings /expansions etc. ) will be used in the new system of things to provide spiritual nourishment for the survivors of armageddon and the resurrected ones. Paraphrasing comments made by the society ."We dont sit back doing nothing waiting for armageddon , we are pro-active in preparing Brothers and Sisters for the new system of things according to Gods will."who will then take care for the resurrected ones.
