I believe there a a few misconceptions as to who should be classified as a refugee.
It's pretty easy to say they are "misconceptions" when you're just giving your own opinion of who 'should' be a refugee. Of course there will always be people that take advantage of the system, but this has not been shown to be the case with the majority of asylum seekers.
Refugees are not people that travel to another country for a better life.
The entire reason for being a refugee is to escape a worse life.
Refugees are required to report to the first country of safety they reach and register as a refugee and be assessed as to their statis.
I'm sure they all got the memo. "country of safety" is a fairly ambiguous term. "statis" isn't a word.
Refugees do not have vast amounts of money under the UNHCR this would raise some concern as to their statis.
Even in the report you posted (from the ever so reliable Today Tonight), the refugees don't have 'vast amounts of money'. Those who save money specifically for that purpose, thinking the people smugglers are there to 'help' them, don't keep the money they saved. "statis" still isn't a word.
Refugees are usually from wartorn areas such as the Asaras from Afganistan and shouldn't be sent back the people from Iran are not refugees as a rule as there is no conflict there.
Your ignorance is astounding. Iranian racial minorities and those who support their rights suffer violence in Iran. Women's rights in Iran are deplorable. Homosexuals there can face the death penalty.
