You could always buy an empty badge holder from Staples and put it on your jacket.
Act surprised when someone points out that it's empty.

I have'nt had a badge for the last 2 DC's. A badge really is not necessary these days. I'm sure they only have them because of how it looks to all the wordlies. It is open to the public. As long as nobody causes a scene, there will be no problem.
