    irondork, it's still happening today!

"loving" cristians proclaim so, but they really don't forgive!

No one demanded or expected anything from them. They chose to lie about what they had given, wanting recognition that they gave all they had, the same as the others who had done so... when they had done no such thing. If they had given half of their house, and kept the other half back, no one would have said anything to them (perhaps someone would have, but they would have been wrong to do so). They lied about what they were giving so they could look/pretend to be as righteous as the others. Clean on the outside; unclean on the inside.

The OT way of handling things did not necessarily die under the new covenant.

Oh, I totally agree with this. We can see it in religious groups today. With burnings at the stake from years ago. From wars 'fought in the name of God'. From the rules placed upon people, and the penalties, and the lack of mercy that hangs about many still. People keep those things around because of what is within them.

Christ does not ask for any of it. But people now, as always, choose who/what they listen to... and some call that God.

I find it interesting that rather then emphise the good, that they sold a field and donated some of the money (evidently(tm) a lot since they thought it would pass for the whole sale amount of a field), peter and his petty god choose to focus on the fact that they didnt give ALL the money... What a kind and mercifull god! He needed money (evidently(tm) he wasnt powefull enough to provide for his people) he gets a donation and choose to see the donators dead because they falsified the price of a seperate transaction. Good job outta jesus and his desert god father. They make Thor look better and better alllllll the time

Vanderhoven7: Shock at being discovered. Ananias and Sapphira wanted to appear more holy than they were. They were willing to play false with the Holy Ghost for their own glory. They willfully conspired and let satan fill their hearts. They became a lesson for the entire church of God. Imagine their repentance in the resurrection; saved yet so as by fire. At least they died in church.

It's quite fascinating to watch a Bible apologist contort himself into a pretzel to make sense of this Satanic book from hell.

Why don't "Christians" apply the same moral standards to "God" that they impose on everyone else?

peter and his petty god choose to focus on the fact that they didnt give ALL the money...

That is not what anyone focused on.

    The lie was the focus.

It was their money before they sold a piece of property (not a house, but some land); it was their money after they sold it, to do with it whatever they chose.

They chose to keep some for themselves, but say that they gave it all.

That was the focus. I know that is a crime in the secular world... fraud or something with regard to donations. They committed that fraud - that lie - against the Holy Spirit. They were not giving money for the benefit of the 'cause'... they were using the 'cause' for the benefit of themselves.

Oh such a loving god - tell fib and die horribly.

Well for me this god is a despotic piece of crap, who reflects the poisoned mind of the person that created it!

Yeah, but if God killed people for telling fibs we'd all be dead. So that doesn't really make any sense. People kill people for all manner of things, true enough. But you can't see God by looking through people (or you get an image of the person you are looking through... who might well be a 'despotic piece of crap'). God has one image though... and that is Christ. You won't get an accurate picture of the Father of Christ if you are trying to see Him through some other image. Could come close if you look through love, imo, but people tend to have different definitions of that too.

we can only get an accurate image from GOD on what is written, and accounts like this and the SHE BEARS that ate the children are written for us to read onto
