Primal and common senses should tell anyone that the WTS. (Publishing company) plagiarized and embellished stories to attract the publics attention.

Millions of pieces of literature were sold and circulated out this endeavor, concealing the innate corruption of this organization,

right from its very beginning in continuation until this very day..

Thanks Randy for this insite. I love the Toto illustration. It's really hard for me, especially as a born-in.

Not really. Common sense is not enough by itself. You need to investigate and educate yourself quite a bit before you can determine that the Watchtower organization plagiarized and embellished their stories from other sources.

As for Dogpatch's statement, I consider it substantially true but with an exception. Asking when the Gentile Time ended (the 2520 years fixation) is an attempt to legitimize an issue which is essentially meaningless. However, since it does appear as a common issue in non-Jehovah's Witness Dispensational eschatology, it is worthy of rebuttal.

In rebutting such statements you have to speak and reason on a "what if" basis. That is, temporarily concede some things for the sake of argument even though you realize they're not true. Assuming the possibility of the erroneous statement being true is a logical device which is the first step in falsifying that statement. After making that initial assumption, you take the discussion to the point where facts and logical deduction makes it obvious that it's not.

To use a metaphor, you have to step into the Twilight Zone, temporarily, in order to meet the person with his erroneous beliefs and draw him out into the real world.

Imagine a large theatre full of people. They sit staring at a curtain. A voice comes over the speakers and gives a warning.

"Ladies and Gentleman, when the curtain is drawn back you will see and hear things that will completely disrupt your lives. Some for the better and some for worse. Your family, indeed, even your marriage mate, may disown you and shun you if you act upon what you learn. You may have to confront your own past decisions and realize that those decisions can never be changed, only grieved over. Or, you may simply decide to be dishonest with your own heart and mind and know that you must live this way the rest of your life. If you are not prepared to face such heavy matters and you are reasonably content with your staus quo, then you should leave now".

The way I see it, more than half would leave rather than see behind the curtain. Then when the curtain was drawn open, half of those remaining (who had said to themselves, "I can handle this, bring it on") would close their eyes, plug their ears and grope for the exit when they realized that the warning was genuine.

Very few JW's will hold the organization's feet to the fire.

    I really enjoyed this piece.

Toto wouldn't have followed his nose if he was fearful. It was the fear of the situation that he simply just did not have. He didn't have it because he relied on his primal senses throughout the whole story. He never got caught up in the hype because he is a dog and dogs don't get caught up in our hype; there is definitely a lesson there.

I think your illustration is reminiscent of Jesus telling his disciples to be like the children they were shooing away. Children don't give a hoot about the "silly problems" of adults and are better for it.

Not really. Common sense is not enough by itself.

Perhaps I should have added weak minded naivety, since this religion is structured on its circulation of its own published literature.

The WTS. has always describe this as preaching the word and good news, analytically speaking its just fraudulent pretentious commercialism,

preconceived to bring power and adulation to the writing executive editors.

You're right of course about the reality of the situation with the men behind the curtain. However, it's no mystery why some of us have to spend a long time deprogramming doctrinally. Many of us spent a long, long time convincing ourselves of the "truths" about what the Bible teaches; for some it's the only take they've had on the scriptures in their entire lives. To decide to give up one's internalized viewpoint of what the bible teaches is a separate thing from losing faith in an organization.

How long did the Watchtower take to sell you their BS? It should take roughly the same amount of time to unsell it from your brain.
