Man: Hey, I'm gettin' out of here. Want to hang out for awhile? Maybe grab a coffee?

JW woman [to herself]: I know what he's really thinking: "Me and the boys were going to give you the date rape drug, then sell you into prostitution to a gang of bisexual Satan-worshippers." Am I serious? I've known Scott for a very long time! He seems really friendly, and he's even clean-shaven--just like the brothers at the Kingdom Hall! Would it really be so bad to hang out with him? It'd just be for an hour, maybe even less! I know he has good intentions--and he is so handsome!

...But wait. I know this isn't right for me. Jehovah has given us clear instructions. And I can't deny what 1 Corinthians 15:33 says: "Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits." I remember what happened to Dinah when she chose worldly people as her close associates. She thought Shechem was an honorable man, but look what he did to her! And what calamity resulted from that!

Besides, 1 Corinthians 7:39 says we should "marry only in the Lord." Even if Scott's intentions are honorable, I know I could never marry him! He has no love for Jehovah. Well, this isn't easy, but I know what I must do. I know that if it's Jehovah's will, he can provide a suitable marriage mate within his organization. Why would I even want to look elsewhere? Loyalty to Jehovah will most certainly be rewarded.

[to Scott]: I'm sorry, Scott, but I can't do that. As you know, I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I have to devote my time and energy to worshipping my God, Jehovah. I don't think 'hanging out' with you would be appropriate for me.

Man: Come on. Just for a liiiittle while?

JW: No! No thank you! I am NOT interested!

Man: Okay. But you're missing out. There's a great jazz band at the coffee shop this evening. Ah, well. I'll let you know how it went! See you tomorrow!

JW: Bye! [sigh] Sometimes, this can be so difficult. Maybe I should talk to an older sister about what I'm going through. I know there are many in my congregation who can help me...

[Cue drama music; brothers replace office furniture with comfortable couch and coffee table with Watchtowers spread across it]

Sister Old-Timer: I'm so glad you could visit me this evening, Sister Cuteness. But, something seems to be troubling you. Would you like to talk about it?

    Sister Cuteness: Well...there's this guy...

    Sister Old-Timer: [laughs] Oh. I see...is it...someone I know?

Sister Cuteness: [laughs] Sister Old-Timer! It's not like thaaaat! There's this man I work with. He seems to be...interested in me.

Sister Old-Timer: Oh my. Well, you are a fine young lady. I can only wish for the days when I was so pretty! I can see why he would find you attractive. You are no doubt a good worker, chaste, reasonable, modest--all desirable qualities in a mate. But...how do you feel? Do you think such a man would make for a good spiritual head?

Sister Cuteness: Well...he SEEMS nice, but...well, I need help to adjust my thinking, sister. I feel like I'm losing my spiritual balance. Like I'm...missing out on something.

Sister Old-Timer: Hmm. This reminds me of what I was just reading about in God's Word. Why don't we read it together? It is a story about a young woman not all that different from you...

Nah. Just a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe. But it wouldn't surprise if that showed up in a drama sometime soon. Or at least the first half might be in a circuit assembly role-play. Seems like they've been doing that a lot these past several years, where you go inside the JW's head as they make their decision. Whether it's alcohol, apostates, porn, or a sports team at school, you'll know exactly what to do.

I just thought it was to spot on. It seemed like it must be from a drama in 2011.
