Granted, but if you can answer this, it would be great :

So, the soul dies, just like the body, it decomposes and is no more, just liek the body, right?

The spirit is nothing more than a "force", an "energy" and has no memories, ideas, personality at all, correct?

So when we die, all the we are is no more but God remembers us all and when he brings our bodies back to life, those memories are put back into us again, correct?

Mad, Maybe "living soul' just means 'embodied soul'? 'Life' and 'living' for a human is human life in a body.

Anyway, I think the discussion about the meaning of the word in Hebrew and what is meant by soul to Christians is a bit of a red herring. If for the Hebrews, the word meant they used for soul meant "the soul when united with the body" (the united package) then perhaps they had another word for the soul when not united with the body? Do you see what I mean?

Essan, if you check any interlinears, you will quicly find that the ANIMALS were referred to as souls (nephesh), but its translated as "creatures" to HIDE its real meaning.

Souls die, are killed- and Jesus said God will destroy many. Churchianity causes all KINDS of confusion blending spirit and soul into the same word, and perverted definitions to EVERY biblical term.

God told Adam they would DIE- and even SPELLED IT OUT, telling them they would return to the ground he formed them from; He didn't create a 'Hellfire' to send their supposed 'immortal' souls to- nor did he take them to heaven , rewarding their Treason!

Nor to send the 'immortal' souls of billions- including Israelites- to a 'Hellfire' He never WARNED them of! Jesus said the day will come when the dead will come OUT of the tombs, Revelation showing even the dead in HELL (Hades/grave) are resurrected and judged! (Weren't they ALRREADY to be BBQed for so long?)

Soul (nephesh)- the creature, or it's life

Spirit (ruach)-"Breath, Wind" power (of God,man, or beast (or the beings of energy living in the spirit realm; angel, demon)

Die/Death- to STOP LIVING (not changing forms, being 'immortal')

Life- combination of spirit and form

Resurrection ("Standing Up" in Hebrew / Greek)- to be brought BACK to Life- NOT to be pulled from Heaven or Hell into their fleshly body!

I can answer you elderlite. It was A great crowd not THE great crowd. See how clear? Absolutely ridiculous. Another interesting discussion about the great crowd is that they are located "before the throne". Who else are "before" and "around" the throne?

Exactly, if Ruach or Spirit can equate to a spirit being then it can equate to a soul, which for a time was embodied, but then left when the body died.

Ok, I understand what you are saying, and agree that the soul can/does die, it is not eternal, though it may be immortal ( eternal means can't die as opposed to immortal which means NOT mortal, but can still be killed - just like in those hIghlander movies ;)).

But if the soul dies and the body dies and the spirit is just a "life force" that returns to God with NO personal qualities whatsoever, then how do you explain the Souls of the Dead under the altar of God IN HEAVEN ?
