Essan: I feel no pity towards you, seing ho you enjoy winning over the retarded in an argument (que djeggnog).
Like we'll ever settle this once and for all, but here goes; ARE YOU A TRUE CHRISTIAN?

LOLOL. Yes, I suppose those who show no mercy should expect none.
But if I get back into this topic again, I'll be here all night, and every night for the next week.
It would be madness, I tell you! Madness! Aspergers-a go go.

Who wants "credibility" when the alternative is the hope of seeing lost loved ones again, and eternal youth without pain in a paradise of pleasure?
I would rather be a believer any day. It's just a pity belief is not mine to choose.

DD: You both use my world view (faith) to understand the universe.
Okay, im calling you out: Where do i use faith? WHERE!?
!?!You live your life without certainty, you make assumptions.
What else would you call acting without certainty?

I suppose my biggest problem here is I really don't know what a true Christian is. I know what is written in the Bible. And I know there are exceptions to certain rules. But I have seen people of other faiths doing loving things for their families and for others.
I would have to say that I am not a true Christian, because while I admire and agree with Christ's teachings of love and forgiveness, I do not believe that it is loving to create an exclusive club where birth circumstance means your eternal life is denied you simply because you didn't get baptized or accept someone you never met or do not know about as your 'saviour'. I am not interested in being a member of such a club.

I would call that having doubt. Perfectly normal and healthy - and the exact opposite of faith;
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". - Hebrews 11:1 (N.I.V)

So let me get this straight, your doubt helps you understand the universe? I hope your statment was tongue in cheek. From where I stand Hebrews 11:1 discribes you to a T.
Heb 11:1
Faith assures us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see.
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". - Hebrews 11:1 (N.I.V)
You won't see me quoting the NIV very often.

How is assuming something to be true without 100% certainty "doubt"?

Nope, because I am imperfect. What I am is a nice person, and I try to be kind to others. To claim that I am a true Christian is a bit arrogant. Who can make that call? I believe in a God, and I believe in moral values and principles. Nuff said. I don't need a label to sleep at night and feel good about who I am.

I really don't know what it means to be a true christian. I just know that if someone needs help, I will do whatever I can. I love people, and I put their needs ahead of my own frequently. I hope that means that I am a good person. I don't know about a christian
