Perhaps Designs has never heard of the ante-Nicene Fathers, or perhaps you are familiar with the Watchtower booklet 'Should you believe in the Trinity?'

Some quotes with references for educational purposes only-

'Therefor these words testify explicitly that he [Jesus] is witnessed to by him [the Father] who established these things, as deserving to be worshipped, as God and as Christ' Justin Martyr-Dialogue with Trypho the Jew, 43

'Jesus Christ our Lord and God and Savior and king' Irenaeus-Against Heresies, 1:10:1

'But that he is himself in his own right, beyond all men who ever lived, God, and Lord, and King Eternal, and the Incarnate Word, proclaimed by all the prophets, the apostles, and by the Spirit himself, may be seen by all who have attained tp even a samll portion of the truth' Irenaeus- Against Heresies, 3:19:2

For' before the morning star it was' and 'in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God'.....This Word, then, the Christ..this very Word has appeared as man, he alone being both God and man...The Word, who in the beginning bestowed on us life as Creator when he formed us, taught us to live well when he appeared as our Teacher; that as God he might afterwards conduct us to the life that never ends' Clement of Alexandria - Exhortation to the Heathen, 1

'Him we believe to have been sent bythe Father into the Virgin, and to have been born of her- being both Man and God, the Son of Man and the Son of God, and to have been called by the name Jesus Christ...while the mystery of the dispensation is still guarded, which distibutes the Unity into a Trinity, placing them in their order of the three Persons- the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost' Tertullian - Against Praxeas, 2

my apologies for moving from scriptures to church fathers

You might want to read what I wrote under the Hell topic about the Age of Enlighenment and Reasonable Christianity vs the Fundamentalist world view. Why did your Church Leaders resort to killing off those who thought differently, what were they afraid of.

Excellent scholars and philosophers weighning in on the age old issues that have plagued Western and Eastern Christianity. Spend some time and research the individuals mentioned.

Just like the Society is fading away so is Fundamentalism, both could never overcome their contradictions and paradoxes.

The human mind is a wonderful thing, it seeks Freedom from tyranny.

Designs - This is typical of your posts. Repeating the hate you read in the Watchtower, not answering legitimate questions and making broad statements with out any proof. How about something real like a real false teaching of the Catholic church. Can't even find one, can you?

My post informs you of some teachings of the Church Fathers. What do your posts inform us on?

Behave you two. You're ruining a good thread. This isn't about what Trinitarians do or don't do; it is about scriptures Jehovah's Witnesses rarely, if ever, address. Start your own thread.

    John 1:11-13 (New International Version)

11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

    John 3:7 (New International Version)

7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

    Footnotes:
    1. John 3:7 The Greek is plural.

    Blessings,

    Stephen
