I'll catch shit for saying it...

but I can't help but think that most of these people were just using their time on this funeral variety show as some free publicity. Entertainers, singers, preachers, etc. They know that a large amount of people are going to be watching and this is a way to get some press, especially since this thing was going to be staged to pull at everyone's heart strings. Record sales will go up for performing artists. Donations will increase for preachers.

From the response on this board alone, I see quite a few people who fell for the stage show.

When my non-JW father died in 1985 I asked about attending his funeral, as I was the only JW in the family.

I was told I and my wife could attend if we sat at the back and did not participate in anything. Also that we were told we could not send any flowers.

Later on I discovered that I could have sent flowers.

When my mother-in-law died, she had become a JW late in life, but became inactive because of ill-health.

They agreed to a funeral service at the Kingdom Hall. Then two days before changed their mind and said the KH could not be used. The family had to rush round to find somewhere and found a community hall they could use. But an Elder still took the service.

Even though having been a JW for 30 years, and now DA'd for 8 years , I still sometimes have diffilculty in understanding their thinking.

awww undercover....I dont think so. Those performers are huge enough on their own without being spotlight hogs yknow? Mariah? Usher? they dont need any help.

Now Jesse Jackson? Hes another story.

I was listening to Good Morning America this morning and a reporter was talking about Micheal Jackson's funeral. He said that JW believe in reincarnation. I laughed. Thenl I was listening to the Tom Joyner Morning Show radio show and he said the same thing. A JW called and told him that witnesses don't believe in reincarnation but resurrection. I've stopped going to the hall about 12 years ago so I called my son, who is a MS and asked him was there something new being taught at the KH. He said no. But it was funny.

But I think the brothers made a mistake with Michael. He was really trying to serve Jehovah. I remember when he did the victory tour here in Philly. He went out in field service and he attended the meetings. But they just was so scared of losing control of the congregation they just pushed him out. I could not look at the memoral service at work so I DVR'd it and just got finished watching it. It was very good and very touching. I cried for Michael. I know what he when though. My mother and father was not JW. But there was nine of us. My up bringing was the same Michael's, abuse and all. It can mess you up. Even when I came into the truth. I was messed up. Looking for love, hope and acceptance. And all I found was mistrust, judgement and isolation. I lost my love for the truth and stop attending meetings.

I feel for Michael and I don't think he molested any children. Yes, he made some poor judgment by letting children sleep in his bed. He should have listen to his own song. "Be careful what you do, because the lie becomes the truth." He did not do anything sexully to those children. It appeared wrong. And how many times have we heard that from the brothers. Don't do this or don't do that because it does not look right. People will say we are doing a certain thing and it will bring reproch on Jehovah's name. When all the time we were innocent of any wrong doing. I was branded a lesbian by my co-workers because I did not have a boyfriend for 12 years. They did not care that I told them I was a JW and did not practice pre marital sex. To them I looked like a lesbian. No matter what I did or what scriptures I used, I was a lesbian. So I have learn not to judge people

did you recently convert to islam?

do you have young boys sleep in your bed with you, and provide them 'jesus' juice (wine)?

did you have 41 people testify against you at the grand jury, enough to arrest you?

did you have child pornography found at your estate?

did one (possibly more) juror make the statement after your trial, that 'they let a pedophile go free'?

    no? well michael jackson did

Wow. So with all that, I guess they found him guilty.

not guilty does not mean innocent

    in a court of law

just not enough evidence to convict, and might be players playing out in the background
