By law it may not be murder. But what does your human gut tell you?
My human gut tells me it's none of my damn business.
See? It's fascinating how differently people look at an issue. I do believe slave laws were/are a good example. It was okay to whip your slave. Never mind that it's against the law today to enslave a person, just the whipping would be considered assault. If everybody had said that these attrocious acts by law were none of their business, where would we be today?
JT, I personally see all the random violence out there as terrorism. I'm wondering, if we added up all the random killings across the country over the last 8 years, would we total the dead in 9/11?
Hhmmmm...that's an interesting thought. Yet, I sorta tend to lean towards terrorism being more targeted...less random. Terrorism seems designed to create and send a message to a particular group and to either encourage or discourage a specific action or group of actions. But, the definition certainly could be expanded. :)
I thought Dinah's use of "Prick" to be entirely approriate to the rather low brow "which side of the vagina" comment.
Deserved? Absolutely! But all it did was serve to allow him to play the victim. It was a comment directed against him personally, and not his argument. He was baiting the DB; she just happened to be the person that bit.

So change the law. In the mean time, the law of the land says that partial birth abortion is not murder. Personally I abhorrer partial birth abortion or any other form of abortion, with that in mind if I were a women I wouldn't have man abortion. However, I would never try to force my particular beliefs off on everyone else by legislating my morality.
I understand your point JT. You are quite right, this terrorism does have a purpose, and it's working. I was just thinking about what these random acts of violence do to put fear into the population, changing us and our nature. And frankly the credit being taken by the last administration for keeping us "safe from terrorism".
I'm sorry JO, I just do not see your analogy.
Back on topic.
I see this murder as a hate crime, not terrorism. If I was a doctor performing abortions, I might feel differently.
